If it is a warranty replacement it seems like a no brainer to me. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 A rod can be successfully spliced by a competent rod builder with little to no perceptible change in performance. Whether or not the rod in question is worth the cost to repair is up to you. This isn't a job I'd recommend as a DIY for a 1st timer, but I'll help you through it if I can. Quote
KDW96 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 If it has free replacement warranty like shimano you can do that. Ive have rods that have broke right above second guide. I took second guide off,put new tip on it.The rods fish just fine, you loose some tip flex. Quote
PondHopper96 Posted May 14, 2014 Author Posted May 14, 2014 Thanks all! I thought the warranty was out but it is not! Quote
