Super User tcbass Posted May 14, 2014 Super User Posted May 14, 2014 If you have a boat that has a front deck stand up butt-seat like most bass boats come with, what is the height? I am looking for an adjustable pedestal for my boat and seeing that a lot of the max heights are 24-30". Well, I measured my waist (my new buttseat is to sit on or lean against) and it's 38", and I'm short. So 24-30" would seem really short. Maybe I'm measuring it wrong or something. So, what is the average height for stand up buttseats on bass boats? This is the seat I have. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted May 14, 2014 Super User Posted May 14, 2014 ....not high enough lol. I'm 6'6" and I haven't found a pedestal tall enough to use a butt seat exactly the way it was intended. The 24" to 30" will fit most people though. Remember if you're standing straight up you aren't leaning, and if you're leaning you won't be as high off the ground (floor in this instance) as you would be if you're standing straight up. Quote
Super User tcbass Posted May 15, 2014 Author Super User Posted May 15, 2014 Ok. Good to know. I'm 5'3", so the 24-3" should work for me? Quote

Super User Fishes in trees Posted May 16, 2014 Super User Posted May 16, 2014 Basically, what is your pants inseam? That measurement is a good place to start. Get an adjustable post because you will want to vary your leaning position from time to time during the day. Quote

Not all adjustable pedestals have the spring. The power pedestals have the seat flange connected so the seat bolts right to the pedestal. Quote
PAGreg Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I'm 5'7" and I have the bps power pedestal that adjusts from 22-29" and it is the perfect range for me. I generally have it about 3" from the lowest point. Quote
