Super User tcbass Posted May 13, 2014 Super User Posted May 13, 2014 So I started a thread earler on finding the correct replacement for my 2-3/8" pedestal. Well, I spoke with Attwood and they don't make an adjustable pedestal in snap-lock 2-3/8" for the 24-30" height and neither does anyone else like Springfield. Apparently I need to buy a new pedestal and base soley for the front deck of my boat to work wtih my butt-seat. There are quite a few choices, Spring-Lock, Snap-Lock, lock and pin, and others. So, what brand and style should I get that is the most durable and cheapest? Also, what height is good for a butt-seat, 20-30"? Here is a picture of the butt-seat I got. Quote
BG RTR Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I'm looking to replace my seat with a butt seat as well. Curious to hear what setup is recommended. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted May 13, 2014 Super User Posted May 13, 2014 12 years ago, when my boat was new, I got an adjustable pro pole that has worked great for me. Spring lock, I think - not sure. I bought mine at a marine supply store, and I happened to have my boat with me. The sales person informed me that there were several different brands of posts and, walked out to my boat and then gave me the right one. Have you tried contacting your boat's manufacturer and getting their supplier? That is where I'd start. I would point out that "cheapest" and "most durable" seldom play in the same neighborhood, so which do you want? Quote

Well, I think there are really only two players in the game, Attwood and Springfield, so whichever one of those is most durable and they are roughly the same price normally, however, certain websites sometimes have cheaper prices or good sales.
