So far I have, all rods have Abu preimier mixture of 3-6.1 and 3-7.1 one rod has a revo rocket. and one rod has a revo sx gen1 7.1. The new rods will either have a rocket, premiers or revo LTX or one of each not quit sure what reels will be added yet. will depend on the rods.... Ibass has helped with all my dobyns choices and been a huge help. He has also recomended what i should buy next. But i want to see what a few others have to say. I am buying Dobyns extreme or champions.. And please only People that know there shizzy about Dobyns rods i have talked with Gary tonight and have his suggestions. But wanted to hear others opinions...... By the way Gary if you just so happen to read this thanks for your time tonight and GL at the FLW this weekend.. Brian Needham Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 what holes are you wanting to fill? what baits? the 745dx is going to do all you 1/2oz and above work (jig, worm ect) I actually wish I had a second one of these.... I am trying to hold out for the 785! (next year hopefully) if you wanted a pure 1/2oz jig rod get a 784ml, best there is, plus flutter spoons. if you are wanting to get two 744 rods then there might not be a reason to get a 743. very rarely is the 743 and 744 on the deck at the same time, its normally one or the other. but that's how I fish. then there is always the 742dx.... my personal favorite. you aren't giving us a lot to go on, you are just naming rods, which is fine but if you want real world recommendations give us some baits, weights, ect. of what you are using on your current rods and what you want to throw on your new rods. we are pretty good at picking rods here on the boards, we just need a little to go on. 1 Quote

Im the type that likes to have every option the deck and if i break the line or snag up i can just cut and go. very rarley do i go in after my baits. thats were i was thinging 743 or 744 figured they could double as spinning rods as well. Then had considered another 745 for multiple jigs tied for something i can just crab and go if i break the line or snag can just cut it and get rite back in there when working brush and heavy cover. wouldnt mind having another cranker or topwater rig for multiple choices. Ever since i switched over to dobyns the croixs been in the locker. probably gonna hand them down to the ol lady out side of my jerkbait rod. To be honest gary was thinking a 733c or another 734 would be ideal. But i really like the dx i know kinda lame reason but the d**n pain job on those rods are so slick i cant stop staring at it. just a real sharp looking real and since i started using dobyns i have seemed to grab the 745 the most so far. Then the 705cb which i might add is a real nice rod.. Quote

I don't follow??? if you want something to throw UP TO 1/2 and 1/2 if you have too in a perfect world that is the 744.....if you are working heavy cover then stick with the 745. on the cranking, the 764RMcb is a great all around cranker....dt6 on up, I even threw a 6xd on mine this weekend in a pinch. Last time we spoke you seemed like you were not fishing heavy cover, in fact I thought you wound up going with 13 or duckett.......... I love helping folks but this is starting to puzzle me. Not sure you have dedicated setups, and positively sure on what you want yet. Quote

Not sure you have dedicated setups, and positively sure on what you want yet. I just got a membership to some different water and it has allot heavier cover then what im used to fishing. But ok that makes sense to me 744. and the 764cb is another option i hadnt thought about like the versitilty with that rod as well. as far a s dedicated setups thats what im trying to acomplish its just the first time i have tried setting up more the 4 rods at once. And to be honest not 100% on what all are capable of with looking them up.. but i feel i am getting somewhere. with those choices. now for the 3rd. In your opinion whats not covered? i have to go to bed will check back in the morning 4am is coming awfull fast. Quote
