Both Lake Ida and Lake Osborne contain peacocks, as well as the canals leading out of of them.  We were doing fine with them but it really slowed down this past week, just not seeing them now.  The main canal going north out of Lake Ida around Boynton Beach Blvd and Gateway holds some very nice peacocks.

I'd be remiss not mentioning downtown Palm Beach near the Flagler bridge is one of the premier places to catch large jack crevalles, 20-30# is the norm not the exception.  You never know if jacks are going to show up or not, if they do you may get only 1 or 2 casts before they are gone.  Cast where you think they will be not where they are, that's how fast they swim.  First light best time.

Fishing from the bank Prince Park in Fort Worth would be a good choice. That is lake Osbourn. You can walk around and fish and no one bother you. I always catch some bass there with 4" senkos or Zoom Centipedes. Fish slow and let it sit.

For peacock I would throw a gold and black #9 or #11 rapala stick bait. Peacock want it fast so jerk and go and don't sit too long. Also try a silver willow leaf spinnerbait, white and yellow. High noon bright sun is a great time of day. You don't need to get up early for peacock. The hotter, the brighter the better. Good luck if you go.

Geo, new to the site and been in Florida for only 7 months now. Any certain places you can recommend on Osborne for peacocks? Would love any info anyone could give or if anyone ever wants a partner for the day I would greatly appreciate tagging along with someone who knows the local lakes in the area. Lake Ida as well.

If there are 2 places I dislike more than lake Ida or Lake Osborne, I can't think of them.  I've fished those places dozens and dozens of times, and I've caught plenty of fish there don't like the slimy vegetation in those lakes.  At Lake Osborne I know 2 pretty decent spots from shore.  East side just north of Lantana rd there is a little bridge, fish it both underneath as well as in the canal towards the homes.  The bridge over Lantana rd, walk down and fish that area.

Around here we catch as many peacocks at 8:00 am as we do at noon, that can be an excellent time to target them.  Fly rod rules but no problem if you don't have one.  What many do with spinning gear is to use 1/8 oz jig, I make my own streamers but a crappie jig is just as effective, when they are aggressive they will jump all over them.  You don't have to do anything fancy, reel it in as if it were a fly.  What I like about using them is I can fish them slow or dart them, jig them, swim them or even drag them on the bottom, with their small profile they cut thru vegetation nicely.  I no longer use lures to target them.  I've caught a lot of bass on them too.
