NewKidInTown Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Ive been throwing smitwick rogues for a while now, liking them and the price, i think im gonna spring for some lucky crafts this year, what do you like/ any suggestions? Without a doubt, the Lucky Craft Suspending Pointers are an outstanding bait. Yes,at 14.99 a pop they are a bit pricey, but they are an excellent bait. Rapala X-Raps are good also, but that ball gets stuck in the tail end of the bait sometimes, when that happens,it stands straight up. I tend to stay away from them because of that. Lucky's in Aurora Black,Ghost Minnow,& Chartruese Shad are the staple colors here. Quote

Getfished Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Megabass Vision 110, Lucky craft Pointer, Spro McStick. All good. Quote
Handy Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 When I first started jerkbaitn I got x-raps and caught allot of fish. A few years later I graduated to luckycrafts and have yet to catch one fish on them, think I will go back to the x-raps. Paul Quote
Getfished Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 If you have a bait that the ball bearings get stuck in the tail. Take a paperclip, straighten it out. Sharpen one end a little bit. Heat it red hot and push it into the lure body from the top of the back, centered, through the bait just a wee bit further forward than the rear point where the balls get stuck. Snip off any extra with a gate cutter. Put a drop of sealer or cement over the insertion point. That should keep the balls from rolling quite so far back. Hope that is helpful. Quote
crappiekid24 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 I dont fish jerkbaits all that much but the few that I do use are X-Raps and Husky Jerks. Haven't really tried anything else. Quote
0119 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Yo-Zuri Edge Trembler. Slow sinks with a unique senko mimicing wobble. Not well known so the fish havent seen it. Comes in exceptional colors too. Quote

ROCbass Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Name your jerk-bait What I call my jerk-bait is none of your business! But Rapala Husky jerks are my favorite that I've used. Quote
jw24 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 The pike and smallmouth around here hammer the bomber long a. Quote
mrbassky68 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 I usually go with a Vision 110 if money is on the line. I use the small xcalibur twitch bait if I just want to get a bunch of bites and I use other jerkbaits some as well. But if you doubt the Vision 110 look at the FLW beaver lake results almost everyone in the top 50 was using one. Quote
SausageFingers23 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Husky Jerk. It just seems to catch fish for me. Quote
Andy C Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 LC pointer in 78 and 110 is hard to beat. I am sure the megabass is awesome, but I am not going to buy one unless I hit the lottery. Swithwick rogues-Awesome baits anywhere I have ever been. I fish floaters and suspending baits. I still throw some original rapalas that I have modified. Quote

Pointers also produce toothy monsters but way more bass for me. *OFF TOPIC* Anyone looking for a perch lure must own the small Tail Dancer (regular depth). Its a fish catching machine for bass, walleye and pike. Quote

He said there might be a few left out there, but they changed a piece internally to prevent it on all the new ones. He said it was around a year and a half that they changed it. Quote
HookSetDon Posted March 15, 2011 Author Posted March 15, 2011 I was at bps sale on sunday and I searched through over 100 x-raps they had in a pile, no trace of yellow perch. Picked up Perch and Olive xr10s for 6 ea Quote
