I fish Minnesota Twin Cities lakes that are usually clear and have some weeds and pads for largemouth bass.

I'm looking for a few things. All from big box stores like Cabelas or Gander Mountain. I saw that someone on here sells online ones but I'm looking for ones that I can store buy and pick up.

One of the other posters suggested using a finesse jig for the lakes I fish. What do you suggest?

1.) Best jig and trailer

2.) Best priced jig and trailer

*** Color advice on both.

Terminator jigs get my approval for store bought with Strike King football jigs not far behind.  I like the terminators because of the trailer keeper. They do a fantaastic job of keeping your trailer from sliding down the hookshaft.   Depending on which lake you fish, the bottom color and water clarity should be your first consideration when choosing a jig and trailer color.  If there is cabage weed, stick with the football jig as the pike will tear up a jig anywhere in the upper 2/3 of the water column.

I've had good success on Deer Lake just over the boarder with those two jigs and a pumpkin/chartruse crawpapi.

My choice would be the Strike King Hack Attack in 3/8 oz. These jigs aren't to big to be fished in just about any situation IMO. I'd get some in a green pumpkin type color and black and blue. As for trailers I'd go with either Rage Craws in matching colors or the Menace grub.

Why not Sieberts Outdoors custom hand made jigs?

Mike is the jigman. He does have quality stuff. No special eye catching wrapper but I'd rather see a low cost package and more quality in the product, Mike does just that. Sponcers first.

I see so many eye catching wrappers on baits and where do they end up?

All bet some of these expensive wrappers and packages cost more than the product.

Why can't they keep it simple and the low cost.(like Mike does)

Jig,,,3/8oz, green pumpkin with a trailer.

White

Blacknblue.

In a pinch I have liked the strike king pro model jigs.

5/16 oz black/blue booyah baby boo

Rage chunk

This is my favorite also.I  use a zoom u vibe craw in the black sapphire color. I  bought some z-man turbo craws and cut them into trailers and they are awesome because the claws float up. All my bass this spring have been with the turbo craw as a trailer.

If I ever had to go big box, i'd opt for Strike King hack attacks/footballs/bitsy flips/bitsy bugs/swim jigs.

1) Buckeye lures Jigs are great.  Best jig trailer is going to be a mixed of different plastics depending on how you present the fig.

Slow bottom hop: A Yamamoto plastic like a Flappin Hog

Fast retrieves: Netbait Paca Chunk. Havoc Pit Boss Chunk

Intermediate speeds: Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver

2) Strike King Jigs are a good value and readily available..  The best priced trailer is going to be a house brand Beaver knock off or Paca chunk knock off.  For the bigbox stores that don't have a house brand, the Yum Craw Papi and Berkley Havoc baits are really good.

The sponsors here make great jigs.............BUT....if your like me, as fast as I go through them, the process of ordering and what not is not the most handy when the jig bite is hot, and need to restock quick, and they are a little on the expensive side for me as well.  For finesse work you simply can't beat Strike Kings Bitsy flips, Bitsy bugs, and Booyahs Baby Boo jigs all for a $1.99 or less PLUS I can get them locally. And for a full size jig the Booyah Boo jig at $2.99 is a fantastic "do-all" jig. Almost every Wal-Mart, Dick's, Gander Mtn.,Cabela's, Bass Pro shops, etc...carries these jigs, and unless your WAYYYYYYYYYYY out in the middle of nowhere, everyone lives close to at least one of these places.

I feel like the jigs I use are wrong then. I just use regular ones with no weedguard or anything that can hold a big plastic
