you alright fellas. (Newbie    ).

Just got in from my 2nd trip down my local canal    .

Missed couple of bites but also caught a a fair few European perch (my target species    ) to just over a pound on a jig head with a zoom swimmin super fluke jr smokin shad aye.

By far my favourite of the new soft plastics ive bought that ive used so far    

and the best session ive had so far with my first casting rod and baitcaster combo    .

The action of the tails on them things are awesome aren't they.

Also had the tail of one bitten off buy a pike    .

The Daiwa megaforce sonic shad lure tails didnt even move in the water    , talk about stiff    .

They didnt even get a follow never mind a hit aye.

Tomorrows all about 4" zoom tube junebug and zoom super hog pumpkin seed    , sunday will be gary yakamoto senkos and charlie brewers sliders depending on water and weather conditions    .

I reckon 2 different soft plastics a trip until    :

1) I get through all the soft plastics i have bought    .    

2) Once i have, to change up the pairs of soft plastics i have paired together until i find the the soft plastics i have the most confidence in also make a mental note if noticed any patterns with regards to catching, not catching and follows in different weather and

the clarity water    .

Mine is a 7.25-pound bass caught on 4" GYCB shad-shaped worm. Biggest fish caught on the smallest bait I throw.

biggest bass was about 9.5 lbs on a 3 inch gary yamamoto senko in cream white weightless rigged on a extra wide gap 4/0 hook. twitching then letting it sit.

I rarely target 'bigger' fish.  Never a guaranteed limit on any waters I hit regularly and I'm happy just to catch fish --  I figure if I've honed in on what the 2-3 pounders are eating, I'll probably catch an occassional larger one -- maybe not necessarily true, but I want to believe it because I just like catching.

Couldn't agree more Choporoz. I had the same strategy a few weekends ago after catching numbers of largemouths and spots that afternoon in the 2-3 lb range and it paid off with this big girl. Just under 5 lbs on a 4" straight tail shaky head.

Seems like y'all are givin tiny lures the shout out. They are good, but also try throwing 9" zoom lizards, Zoom Ol Monsters, and 6" yum dingers. Trust me when I say you won't catch as many small ones. My pb was a 6pld 5 oz largmouth, caught on a kvd red eye shad. I've caught more big fish on lizards, though.

My PB of 10# was caught on a rebel BIG CLAW crawfish crankbait with a shot of craw scent. At 4:30/5:00am in the low light as I casted parallel to shore at a drop off I was 2' off the shoreline as I ripped it out of the weeds into a slow moving channel when she hit it. She had a mouth like the rear opening of a garbage truck.

My PB (6-7 pounds) was caught on a 10.5" Zoom Ol' Monster worm in Red Bug color.

best two lures overall for me are weightless superfluke in white pearl, and any natural color zoom trick worm. Both rigged on a 1/0 or 2/0 gamakatsu wide gap hook.

 

biggest large mouth bass is 8 lb 4 oz on a weightless zoom trick worm in motor oil/ chartreuse tail

 

 

Having said that, I've caught some pretty good strippers on x raps. Whenever I go to the beach I tend to tear up the redfish and trout on x raps as well.

My PB 6.6 lbs. was caught on Wacky rigged watermelon 5" Senko.

My favorite for bigger bass - 10" worms and full size Brush Hog.

My PB was with live bait and was just under 8 pounds.

 

PB with artificials was 6.5 pounds with a pumpkin seed tube bait fished with an ultra light rig and 4lb test line.  Needless to say I was both surprised and careful.  Small bait and large fish.  Love it.
