125.00 Budget For New Jigs

Hello i am looking at buying some jigs from siebert outdoors. Budget 125.00 to 150.00 of course less is better so if i am way off the mark let me know. I had my tackle bag stolen from some thugs at the boat ramp that had my jigs and plasticks in it. I want a good assortment of weight and colors. Was thinking the dredge packs brush and football.. Also want some good punching setups.  Fishing some clear and murky water with medium to heavy cover. Punching some thick cat tails.

 

my thoughts were 3/8 1/2 3/4 in the brush and football style and for punching i have no clue.

 

Rods used will be dobyns 766c revo rocket dobyns 745dx revo rocket

 

What would you spend your cash on? Thanks

You can get an inordinate amount of jigs for that price. More than you will use.

Im sure the way the ol lady snags them and looses them she cost me 20.00 bucks every time we are out and jig fishing need a arrey plus i had my bag stolen and i have 0 jigs and plastics. The ol lady set the bag down and i dint realize it we loaded boat and drove off by the time she realized it we went  back band the bag was gone..

Choice is yours however dirty jigs makes one of the finest jigs on the market with competive prices I would check those out as well. There California swim jigs are hands down the best swim jig on the market.

Also the colors on dirty jigs skirts are the most realistic I've seen to date.

I think your sizes are good for the brush and football for most fishing all of your fishing.  I'd probably get a couple 1/4's just in case you need a light jig.

 

For the punching I'd go with the Punchin jig and the punch rigs.  Sizes I'd look at 1/2-1oz will do most work.

since he doesn't always count too well when he assembles a big order! Another advantage

I feel naked with out my jig bag cause I mainly fish jigs dew to tote high pressure my fishing holes get. 90‰ of of the time guys are throwing crank baits and rattle traps. Like to mix it up.. Listen to RW, ask Mike the jigman for advise for sizes, colors and types. Mike's a bass fisherman too that helps too.

I like your style I do the same thing when I purchase baits I buy an assortment to get most of them first. Then I can add more later but the bigger part of buying them is out of the way.

Hint, This forum is free because of the support from our sponcers they have to eat too. It's our way to give back to this awesome bass fishing forum. We're getting plenty of bass fishing knowledge here it's a win/win for everyone. It's ok to spread the wealth too but I try to buy from our sponcers first.

I see Siebert has an option for wire tied jigs for an extra .25  I would def. do that.  I'll never own another jig or spinnerbait that isn't wire tied.  Enjoy the new jigs

Grab a Siebert compact spinner while you're shoppin'. Bluegill pattern brings all the pike to the yard in clear water.

there is nobody more picky about the stuff he uses than me, and I use Siebert's jigs...... they are high quality, and fish catchers. in fact, I changed from jigs I was happy with, and ordered samples from Mike more than once. I liked what I saw, so I switched.  

 

Everyone has opinions and that's great....... I am sure Dirty Jigs make a fine jig, and I have heard good things about them

 

but they also sponsor the board you are a moderator at....

Lets not turn this into a debacle over whos got the better jig. I made my choice cause this is the board i frequent. Allot of people have nothing but good things to say about them.. And i am a avid supporter of buying from board sponsers if i can.. Plus the stuff i read about the storm jig and the donations are all for a good cause another reason i made my choice.. 

 

If you are a board mod you should fully understand why i made my choice..

I have used dirty jigs, and have about a dozen of them in my box. That said, the siebert outdoor jigs I use have held up much better. The paint on the dirty jig heads in my opinion has been low quality. After a few days fishing there is hardly any paint left and the ones with eyes, well they no longer have eyes.

Mike's jigs still have paint after I let my girlfriend fish them. That is more than I can say for (too) many products. God bless wire ties too.

Siebert has great jigs for sure.  Love the fact that he has the wide gap swim jig.  Great colors and selection.  Also like the fact the he keeps improving on his jigs (i.e. colors, hooks, etc.).  And yes....wire tie is a must and well worth the extra .25.
