What is the best hook to use for a straight tail roboworm...or any worm of that size. I sometimes make long casts but most of the time I just pitch them 15 feet or so. I have been using a 1/0 gammy straight worm hook. I noticed i have been missing more than usual.

What size worm; 5", 6" or 7"? 5" use 1/0, 6" use 2/0, 7" use 3/0 #11 Gamakatsu or #5100 Owner straight shank light wire worm hooks.

Does it matter whether I use ewg or straight shank or offset worm? I was under they assumption that for shorter distance use the straight shank and then ewg for longer casts.

are you fishing it weightless?

if not just put it on a shakyhead and call it a day.

No I use a weight most of the time. I do put them on owner shakyheads some

I really like the Owner ultrahead shaky head...... I have since switched to the siebert extreme shaky because I love the deepthroat hook.

the ultrahead is a fine, fine head that I have caught plent of fish on, many with a roboworm attached to it.
