If I followed the rules, this post should rightfully be listed in the Road Trip forum, but I wanted our general membership to know what a quality member we have among us.  Pete-K committed to serve Bar-B-Que for our group of thirty early in the planning of the trip.  Well, circumstances changed, and Pete was unable to attend the trip and fish with us.  Undeterred, he stood by his promise.  On Friday night, Pete and his wife Marilyn drove an hour and a half to the resort, served an absolutely delicious meal to thirty people, and then drove home again.  Not counting the hours and hours of food preparation, Pete and Marilyn took at least twelve hours out of their lives just to serve a meal to a bunch of hungry fishermen/women.  On behalf of all the lucky folks who were fortunate enough to eat that meal, you have our heart-felt thanks for "conduct above and beyond the call of duty."

Thank you Pete and Marilyn!

Truly excellent BBQ, if I lived in the area I would have them cater events for me, both personal and work events. Food was second to none and the fact that they did this even though they couldn't make the trip....WOW!

Absolutely!  Well said Mike.  It was an OUTSTANDING BBQ to say the least!  I want more.

But more important than that, is the amazing dedication and commitment displayed by Pete and his wife!

Thanks guys we were glad to do it. Plus it was worth it to meet everyone we were able to meet. We will be at the next one if it works out where we can make it. Next year has a lot of plans for us, Yellowstone here we come .. That trip is 18 days counting 6 days for travel. Then to Northern In for a week. 5 other 3 days trips but again if it falls right where we can make it. Will sure try my best to be there.

MemphisFF yes we have a 3 year old Grandson that has been fighting cancer for over 2 years. He is in remission right now, but still a few cells showing up in his spinal fluid 2 weeks ago. But the doctors at St Jude tell us its nothing to worry about. They think its from something else. God has blessed us with him still being here. But man he sure rips my heart out with all he has been through in 3 years of life.

Bassinchris I will be glad to tell you how I make the sauce. But the sad part is I don't have it written down as I should. Its one of those I have to taste until its right. Has everything in it but the Kitchen sink. Or does it??? :Idontknow:

Hope to do this again next year, and guys that have not make the trip. Its worth every cent to make the trip. Great people and fellowship second to none.

It was a great meal. You and Marilyn really did a wonderful job. Thank you both so much. It was great chatting with you two and to find out Marilyn was born in St. Louis was cool. Your grandson will be included in our prayers as well.

It was a pleasure to you both. Thanks again.

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to spend longer than a few minutes with you.

Will definitely make up for it next year...

My and Jeannie's prayers are with your grandson for a complete and total recovery, and with his Papa and Grandma, and his Ma and Dad, may he keep you all strong.
