McAlpine Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Just thought I would post up my experience. I have had a 6-9 Elite Tech Smallmouth rod that was absolutly killer for shakeyheads. Unfortunatly last time out the top 1/4 of the rod just exploded under load and the rod ended up in 3 pieces. So the good news, the Elite Tech rods have a limited lifetime warranty. Process was to take pictures of the rod where it broke, the lot number and rod type printed on the blank. Also needed to send a copy of the original receipt. That's a tough one but I bought it off amazon so was able to pull up my original info on it and print it out (yeah). So, if anyone buys one of these rods, keep your original receipt! So, I emailed everything to Fenwick and didn't hear anything back for about a week and a half. Then I got an email that basicaly said, your good to go, call our Customer Service with this reference number. $9.95 later for shipping, etc and a new rod is on the way. They really did a good job, no hassles. Keep that original receipt!!!! So, just an FYI, thought someone would be interested. 1 Quote
fishguy613 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 awesome! pretty sure fenwick is pure fishing, and ive heard they are great to deal with. i think fenwicks are good rods, their blanks are really sensitive for their price points imo Quote
Hogsticker Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 That's the way it should be for sure, and what keeps people coming back! Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted May 6, 2014 Super User Posted May 6, 2014 Good info to know since I have a few of those...LOL!! BTW, which 6'9", was it the medium, extra fast spinning or the medium light, fast spinning? I ask because my medium is killer for shaky heads too but I was going to get the 6'9" medium light, fast for drop shots and small hair jigs but the medium throws the light stuff so well I just never got the medium light. So far so good, I hope I don't have to use them but it is nice to know they do take care of their customers. Quote
rawjuice Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I love dealing with pure fishing, had an abu garcia villain that was messed up, they sent me a new one with process fee, same deal, love it. Biggest part of the reason why i bought a fenwick elite tech smallmouth Quote
stevec328 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I had a similar experience. Broke a 6'3" Smallmouth spinning rod (my fault, not the company's) and they replaced the rod at a substantial discount. I didn't expect them to just give me a new rod when i was the one who broke it and was very happy with their response. Will definitely buy Fenwick again. Quote
Hogsticker Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 That HMG 6'9 medium light spinning rod has my attention as well. Might make a good tube rod. I wonder if these are true titanium guides on the hmg line?? Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted May 7, 2014 Super User Posted May 7, 2014 Too late. Didn't keep my receipts. Only one of mine was bought off Amazon. So far no problems with any of mine. Nice to know how much it cost to replace the rod. Great service. Thanks for the info. Will be buying another couple so I will make sure to know where the receipts are.....just in case. Quote
