Virginia - Shore Fishing

Hey guys,

 

I currently live in Ladysmith, my main fishing is done in the lake in my gated community, however my Dad and I would like to try other places, we just don't know of any around the area. Figured this would be a good place to ask if anyone knows of any decent places to fish from the shore, anywhere near Fredericksburg down to Ladysmith would be preferable, we plan on going out tomorrow to test some places. I use lures and he uses the ole' worm and hook method, though I think I'm finally getting him to come over to the dark side.

I'm up in DC area, so I am not too much help.  But, I wanted to put a plug in for Hunting Run.  There are folks that don't like it too much because of the preponderance of dinks.  But, I like it.   Sure, you'll catch your share of 1/2 pounders.  But, there's big bass in there, too.  I have never been skunked.  And, they rent boats.  Fairly cheap, at that.

I was looking into them, unfortunately they are only open Thurs - Sun. but I have that place on my list to check out for sure. Thanks for that input Choporoz.
