I'm just thinking, maybe too much. I use a Cajun red line leader on my Carolina rig. I been wondering why not on my crankbaits, spinnerbaits, inline spinners, jigs???

Since the red line disappears at a 10ft depth do you think a red line would be better if the fish are line sensitive??

If we're fishing a small still water pond can the fish be line sensitive? If the place isn't fished that heavily?

I wonder if a 24" leader in red could make a difference.

I'm not buying the line shy deal when it comes to bass fishing, I don't like fluorocarbon line so I substitute clear copoly and I have not had any more or less of a catch rate. I hear guys talk about using fluorocarbon not only because of sink rate but because it is clear and then go and tie on an umbrella rig with .040 wire attached directly to the bait. Don't over think, using a leader makes you use another knot which then adds a second weak spot to the line, just tie direct and don't think about it, LOL!!!!

Have you seen booyahs new rigs? They basically took a carolina rig, added WIRE to the back and sell it as the ability to take a crankbait to any depth.

I wonder about the theory of bass being shy about line visibility.  With Alabama (or Umbrella) rigs, the lure is hooked to plainly visible wire leaders with gaudy heads, and big bass hit them with regularity.  So I wonder if it makes a difference???

The colour red is the first colour to disappear from the spectrum with regards to depth of water but the leader will still be visible but just appear neutral grey fella aye.
