Elwood aka Ted Striker. Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 You alright fellas. Has anyone used glow in the dark soft plastic baits that you charge with a uv torch on a jig head for night fishing? Do they actually catch bass or just the fishermen that buy them? Look forward to hearing your views . Cheers aye Quote
Knightiac Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Sounds like they just catch the fisherman although it might make night fishing easier cause you can spot your bait... Quote
Elwood aka Ted Striker. Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 my mistake fella . I meant for night fishing aye. Lol . Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted May 5, 2014 Super User Posted May 5, 2014 Never used them but i wouldn't be them. sounds like it will catch many us not the fish. Quote
Elwood aka Ted Striker. Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 Theoretically if you can use a plastic that acts right visually and vibration wise with the correct presentation could it work or do you think it would spook the fish? Quote
stevec328 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Zoom makes a super fluke in glow with chart. tail which I have found to be very effective in low light conditions ( mostly dusk, don't do a lot of morning fishing). I do know it is visible to me when other baits can't be seen. Maybe just right place and right time, but I don't leave home without it. 1 Quote
Super User bigbill Posted May 5, 2014 Super User Posted May 5, 2014 I purchased the glow plastics from mister twister but never tried them. So many baits and so little time. But I have used with success in low light conditions as it gets darker a weedless hook with a 4" long white uncle Josh 1/2" wide pork strip trailer with a 20" leader and bobber. 1 Quote
Solution primetime Posted May 6, 2014 Solution Posted May 6, 2014 I only have had success with glow baits in saltwater for Trout, Reds,snook...Glow is actually a good color and often is best either deep or in stained water. I have never tried them in for Bass. I used a grub as a trailer on a spinnerbait when fishing was slow, so not sure how they would work, but our of all the baits we sell at our soft bait bar, glow is first to sell out always. People love to buy them, I hear Crappie will get fired up for some glow grubs at times, I would rather throw Lime or chartruese if I need some bright colors, or think I do.... 1 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted May 6, 2014 Super User Posted May 6, 2014 I've used them mostly for snook at night. They do not work any worse or better than any other dark or light bait. Conventional wisdom, dark lure dark water, light lure light water and all the colors in between mean nothing. 1 Quote
Super User Master Bait'r Posted May 6, 2014 Super User Posted May 6, 2014 The fish probably think they're being haunted by the ghost of worms past haha 1 Quote
