tlkilian Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I've been thinking about getting a new rod lately. Nothing serious just thinking. I want something for soft plastics i.e. senkos, Texas rigged worms, shaky heads, jigs, and maybe a little bit of spinnerbait action. Now hypothetically would a St. Croix LES68MXF be a good rod for this type of stuff? Quote

Now hypothetically would a St. Croix LES68MXF be a good rod for this type of stuff? Hypothetically... that rod looks and sounds perfect for those applications. The highest trim level of St.Croix that I own are LTB's. LE's are "rare air" rods for me. If you "hypothetically" get one... enjoy!! 1 Quote
Cgrinder Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Hypothetically, I'd drop the extra ~$40 and get the Legend Xtreme 6'8" MXF. Quote

BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted May 5, 2014 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted May 5, 2014 Hypothetically, I would get a price from Valley Sports before I made a decision. Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted May 5, 2014 Super User Posted May 5, 2014 The LE and LX are the same blank material with a different paint job. The LX is 2" longer also. I don't care for the grips or reelseat on the LX, so that would be money saved for me. The other difference is tangle free guides vs Y frames. while I like the tangle free guides, they're not worth the price difference to have to put up with the reel seat and grip, but the extra 2" is nice. And we all can use an extra 2"! Lol Quote

tlkilian Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 I've heard a lot of complaints about the handle on the xtreme. I think it's either you love it or you hate it. Anyway, cork never goes outta style. Quote
