SeanW Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Thanks Raul, it is organized pretty well. However it needs a bit more work to get it where I want. The work bench is normally clean and used to work on my tackle. Quote
JigMe Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Sean, That's a great way to organize your stuff, where can I find some hook and board like yours? Or you made it yourself. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 11, 2011 Super User Posted January 11, 2011 My slant on "reorganizing" is to get rid of stuff I will never fish. Most of this are lures that came with a "package" purchased from guys here or given to me one way or another. I used to think I fished about 25% of my tackle, but after going through it the last few weeks, I have come to the conclusion it's more like 10% or less! At any rate, I have disposed of a bunch of baits and hope some of it works out for other fishermen here at BassResource.com. 8-) Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 11, 2011 Super User Posted January 11, 2011 Sean,That's a great way to organize your stuff, where can I find some hook and board like yours? Or you made it yourself. Its called pegboard. You can get it and the hooks at any hardware/home improvement store. Quote
bigredxlt Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 When I had my business I had a 3000sq ft shop for my boat and tackle. It was more then many tackle shops had, and better organized. But I sold and had to move it home. My garage is maybe 600 sq ft so most of my gear is in big totes and put away. There is a season supply of everything I need, and alot I dont need in those pics. When you have alot of room like I did, it doesnt seem like so much stuff. so since you have 40,000 times more gear than I do, does that mean you catch 40,000 times more fish? haha just kidding but that does seem pretty darn excessive. I think I am going to have to send those pics to my girlfriend so she stop thinking I spend too much on tackle. Quote

If you actually use the stuff and/or compete in tournaments, it's far from excessive. Quote
chromedog Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 You know, when my wife complains about the amount of tackle, I just show her threads like this and it puts it all into perspective for her, lmao! Quote

DeBassin619 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Man, That sure is a lot of gear you have. All I have to ask is: Don't you get paranoid about what to use once your on the water haha? Quote

I bought 3 of the fishermans kit package deals. It comes with some 4"x30" also, but I have not found a place to mount those yet. It comes with pegs, but I went and bought 40 longer ones from Home Depot for my favorites. The peg board gets old, and sometimes breaks apart under weight. This stuff also comes in clored as well. Check out the In the House segments on Basszone. Its pretty cool to see some of the pro's set ups. Alot of them have the Gator Board. http://www.alligatorboard.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=54&category_id=15&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7 Quote

I think I am going to have to send those pics to my girlfriend so she stop thinking I spend too much on tackle. Im not sure, but its fair to say that I catch quite a few fish. Im going thurday. I have several sponsors to so I get some stuff free. But, the Zoom and Reaction Innovations stuff I buy in large quantities. Say 20 packs of each color of my favs, and maybe 5 of a few others. Ive also been doing this for a while, so it builds up over time. When I go to a Pro/Am I tend to spend a few hundred bucks every time. Ive stopped doing that with new styles. I was getting to many different baits. I couldnt keep track of em and I wasnt using them. Made my friends very happy every fall when I clean out inventory. I also buy a case of new Plano's every year. I replace the oldest most beat up boxes with new. I have a friend likes the old ones. There are usually some baits left in them for him to use. I moved the stuff to my garage 8 months ago and I still cant get it the way I want. Some crazy lady who says she is my wife keeps demanding half the garage. > I used to have a sponsor that was a custom pour expert. Guy was always giving me more and more. He would make my preferred colors and do an amazing job. Unfortunately he passed on 2 years ago. I still have plenty of inventory though. Those are kept in the plastic drawers below.I really need to get the drawers organized and labeled, thats my last bit to do. Quote

I have alot of experience on the lakes in Northern California. I usually pack the boat depending on where Ill be fishing. Then pack a few "what if" baits and Im good to go. But last year I screwed up. Went to a tournament expecting to power fish and ended up having to buy a drop shot rod. >:(I wont make that mistake again. Quote

Nice_Bass Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I have some of those same Coors lite lures, they always seem to produce, but I seem to run out of them on every fishing trip. ;D LMAO. I agree. Those are awesome lures to catch some bass. last time I was out for 10 hours, because of that d**n lure. (well, I juice it up with some blue label and pepsi). haha! You ruin blue label with Pepsi????????? Quote

Skeet Reese Honeycomb Fluke/Finess (Shimano Caenen) Skeet Reese Honeycomb Finess Tube Jig (Shimano Sahara) Clancy W Wooooo i got to ask hows that new Skeet Reese Honeycomb rod and that Shimano Caenen working? Thats the same combo i have been looking into for a while now. Roby Quote
Texasfishingtips Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I love it. VERY light combo. The rod has a nice tip and a pretty good backbone. I use it for flukes almost only but if i needed to throw a DS or a Shakeyhead i could on it. I like throwing flukes on a weighted hook b/c I think that it gives them more action. It seems that the micro guides do add some distance you can cast. Clancy W Quote
WoolleyBass Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Perfect that sounds awesome. Im really going to have to look into it. Thanks for the info Roby Quote
