tlkilian Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Is it just me or is fishing still really slow here? The water temp. seems unusually cold for this time of year. Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted May 2, 2014 Super User Posted May 2, 2014 Got out for a couple hours in Hingham: not so much as a bite. Water temperature around 44 degrees. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted May 2, 2014 Super User Posted May 2, 2014 The lakers & smallmouths are hitting great on the Quabbin. Crappie & yellow perch are doing well on some western ponds. Decent spring if it weren't so late with the ice just out only about a month ago. Quote

Sdaversa Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I've been having awesome luck so far this spring. I've been fishing structure and some of the shallower coves of the lakes I fish. Just have to fish slow! Quote
BR1AN Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I am honestly having the best spring, not just quantity but quality size fish.. feel like i am being spoiled those 2 were caught tonight, one on the left was 4lbs 12oz everything for me has been caught on those powerbait swimbaits in firetiger. They absolutely destroy them.. Good thing their only $2 and change for a pack of 5. Quote
Mike2841 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Awesome fish, you've been killing it this year. So far I've got one LMB one rainbow and one pickerel. Quote

Whatever you prefer to use just use a real slow retrieve. I'm keeping my bait right above the bottom knipping the weeds a bit. i dunno if its the smell of the powerbait or what.. but they enjoy these to say the least... Wal mart stocks em. Quote
mhtranger Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Brian can you get a boat in where you are fishing? Quote
tlkilian Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 Well there's my problem. I've been fishing mostly reaction baits, cranks and spinners to be exact. And while they still catch some fish, it's mainly just dinks (or one very aggressive, very large pickerel). I guess I'll just need to tie on some shaky heads or jigs. Quote
BR1AN Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Brian can you get a boat in where you are fishing? sure can, just not exactly sure where the launch is on this lake. Ive seen people on boats trolling around so their is atleast one. Quote
FirstnameLastname Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Have not caught much of anything in the small ponds. We had a long cold winter, I bet the fishing will be a little less great this year Quote
InfamousBG Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Been fishing a good amount around some of the ponds in Plymouth MA where my parents live and the bass have been exciting. Been throwing spinner baits and senko worms. Top water works as well. Quote
