Super User Choporoz Posted May 5, 2014 Super User Posted May 5, 2014 I'm a long way from 'commitment', but I have thrown jigs a fairly high percentage of casts this year. Confidence is extremely low at this point, however, as I haven't seen/felt/noticed one certain hit yet. Sure, I could have missed 50 hits, but my enthusiasm is waning. Quote
onefinalcast Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 No bites on the jig today, and lost a perfectly good new jig because line lashed midair and the jig flew off and away.. Better luck next time though! Quote
Super User tcbass Posted May 6, 2014 Super User Posted May 6, 2014 Dont be afraid to lose them/invest in pocket knockers. My biggest issue these days is a boat full of rods and lures and I pull out two jig rods first every time and everywhere. I wish I caught more lures on jigs. I'm just not very successful at it. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted May 6, 2014 Super User Posted May 6, 2014 You'll love jigs when you start catching on them! They are my #1 bass catcher. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted May 6, 2014 Global Moderator Posted May 6, 2014 I spy a perfect selection! Must admit, some of those jigs look fantastic, haven't fished with Siebert jigs before. I may be wrong, but the proprietor of Siebert posts here? FL Yes, he is also a site sponsor. You dont get to be one by making and selling an inferior product. Mike Quote
FlipnLimits Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 You dont get to be one by making and selling an inferior product. Mike I wouldn't think so Will have to get in touch with this gentleman. Thanks for confirming. I also notice he posted above. Quote
Brian Needham Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Mike Siebert makes the best jig out there. I implore you to check them out. Quote
MemphisFF Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Brian you got those pics from what you caught on Sieberts jigs? Straight swallowing them ... 1 Quote
Brian Needham Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Hey Mikey...... I think he likes it!!!!! aint a whole lots else to say about that, except: siebertoutdoors.com 3 Quote
jhoffman Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 buy yourself a plano FTO/Elite spinnerbait box, stick the head of the jig in the slot like a spinnerbait. I think they show it different than i do it. I wedge the head on one side of the separation and the skirt on the other side. Its the best setup i have found. Quote
John F. Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I need to get off the fence and start using the jigs I bought. Senkos stopped working in my canal a few weeks ago, maybe a jig will. My biggest issue is all the hair algae (slop) where I have been fishing. Guess I need to figure that out or fish elsewhere. Thanks for the tips and inspiration. Quote
onefinalcast Posted May 9, 2014 Author Posted May 9, 2014 Awesome pics of the bass swallowing those jigs! Anyway been out only once this week and still haven't had any luck on the jigs but I keep throwin' em anyway. Hopefully soon I'll get a bite. Maybe if the weather stops acting up. 1 Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted May 9, 2014 Super User Posted May 9, 2014 Compare Seibert price and quality to any jigs on market and it will beat it in both categories. The different options and colors is ridiculous...I'm sure the number of combos possible is in the tens of thousands if not higher. Quote
