Jraut98 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 What are your guys best lures for catching perch. I know it would be better to is bait but I think lures are more fun. Oh and tell me the color of lure you like the best thanks Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted May 2, 2014 Super User Posted May 2, 2014 Not sure what part of the country you are in, so it could vary. Here in MA the ice just left about a month ago. Today water temps were just about 50 degrees, so it's still pretty cold. I think location is most important, with the "what" following that. Right now, they are still in the deepest sections of the lake you are fishing. And snugging the bottom. A decent tactic is to drift with jigs, dressed with plastics (I like BG Baby Shads and/or 2" curly tails). You have to use a ball head heavy enough to get down and keep it down to just about 6" off the bottom on the drift. These are not big, but it's a start: And you must be able to read your sonar: Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted May 4, 2014 Super User Posted May 4, 2014 #1 lure for me is a Hali Jig. You can use them with livebait or one of Gulp's lineup of artificials. Quote
