LOL, that's what I thought. They have a separate "south of the border" section. I guess the planet ends at the Rio Grande.

The Stick Marsh in Felesmere, Fl. will hold its own with anywhere in the country.  If you want to catch a mess of big fish its definitely the place to go.  Day in and day out there are more double digit big fish caught there then anywhere in Florida.  My personal opinion.

Double digit fish isn't the point of the article. It's for best bass fisheries which will and do change year in and year out and if you had the choice of catching a 20 lb limit in a day or the CHANCE at catching an 8 lber, the better fishery will almost always be a 20 lb limit.

 

That being said, the Potomac should definitely be on that list. And they took a picture of one of my favorite docks to fish

Stick Marsh is 42 on the list because there are no tournaments allowed, can't find the Potomac. 30 pound + limits are normal for this place. No fish even allowed in a live well. Just loads of big monster fish. It should be higher, but that's just my personal opinion.

Shocked to see my home lake (New Melones) come from off the national radar to a #51 ranking. Bummer is that it could be short lived... major drought plus increased water being pulled out for the delta has it about 150 ft down from where it was three years ago. Water level typically rises here in the spring, so the reservoir losing about a foot a day has to be a nightmare for the spawning bass.

How tragic, though typically pitiful as is bassmaster, that to them the "Hottest" means catching fish that average ONLY 4lbs.    4lbs. todays Hot fish, probably full of the black ick spots too but thats just a "sun tan" ......ask the professionals!

For what it's worth, all those Michigan lakes listed there are swamps with nothing more than dink walleyes and hammer handle pike in them.  Smallmouth?  Never heard of them unless its 10" bass with small mouths!

this list seems really biased toward smallmouth fishing this year... it was interesting to hear about the lakes up in the New England area... i figured the fishing was good, but didn't know it was that good...

I notice in fishing swamps there are bigger fish making the bass fry too? We have bigger DD bass up here there not being caught.

Not everyone fishes for bass up here.

Only one place listed in ct? Candlewood lake. It has more productive bass fishing lakes than one. The bassmasters can only rate the Tornies they fish.

The ct river is probably one of the best fish producing rivers in the country if not the northeast.

They fished Green Bay last year and the cutoff was just outside of Sturgeon Bay

Green Bay is ranked 31, why not fish the best bass bay in Lake Michigan or list Lake Michigan as #1, they listed Lake Erie as #3, another Great Lake.

Lake Casitas was listed #60 this time because of it's reputation of being a giant bass lake and that claim doesn't apply anymore and will not for another 5 years or so. Today Casitas is a good number lake and 20 lb 5 bass limits are common but this lake is too small to accommodate a lot of boats and requires 21 day quarantine period for every boat that passes quagga mussel inspection to be allowed to fish. This makes Casitas prohibitive to fish for anyone that doesn't live locally.

Clear lake would be the best Largemouth bass fishery in the world according to this list.

Stick Marsh is sick, anyone and I mean anyone can go out there and have a potential for a double digit, put in a week from Nov. thru March and if you don't have one your doing something wrong.  5 fish limit 25lbs, easy cheesy!
