wackyworm66 Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 What is your favorite buzzbait brand, color, and size? Quote
hookingem Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Nothing like a good ole' 1/2 black cavitron IMO. Quote
WanderLust Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Nothing like a good ole' 1/2 black cavitron IMO. Yeppers! I have a white one as well but Black on Black is deadly at dusk. Quote
midnighthrasher Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Nothing like a good ole' 1/2 black cavitron IMO. Cavitron dosnnt come in a 1/2oz. I believe you meant 3/8 oz. But you were correct on the black on black and that Cavitron are the best Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I bought a Cavitron buzzbait last year at the SC sportsman show. When i asked which one i should get the guy said"can't go wrong with chartreuse". The first time i threw it i caught a 3lber. So I'm gonna x3 the Cavitron but go with the chartreuse. Quote
EastTexasBassin Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I've done best with the white cavitron w/ gold blade. Quote
The one that got away Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Cavitron 3/8 oz, black with red blades, but all the colors work. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 5, 2011 Super User Posted March 5, 2011 3/8 oz. Cavitron, black on black 8-) Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted March 5, 2011 Super User Posted March 5, 2011 I picked up 1/8 oz versions by Strike King and Booyah. I've read that that the smaller ones can actually outfish the larger ones at times. I stuck with solid black and solid white. We'll see which brand sticks more fish. Topwater crush on ultra light....can't wait Quote
okiefisher8 Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I'm gonna have to say the cavitron as well. Many of the colors have produced for me. Quote
BassThumb Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Another vote for Cavitron. The 3/8 oz black blade on black skirt is my go-to, but I've had a lot of fun with red on black, gold on white, and gold on Secret Weapon Lures gold shiner skirt. I also use the subtle 1/8 oz Strike King Mini Buzz, usually with the blades bent forward so I can slow the retrieve down. It works well after a small cold front slows down a hot bite. It's also a good option as a follow up bait after you've fished a stretch with a big buzzer. Plus, it's a fantastic river smallie lure. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 5, 2011 Global Moderator Posted March 5, 2011 Haven't tried a cavitron, looks like I need too. I've done really well with a black War Eagle 1/4 oz and a homemade 3/8 white head, white painted blade, and a clear skirt with silver sparkle, they tear it up in clear water. Quote

vegas679 Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I have done very well w/ a black 3/8 Terminator. I'm gonna have to pick up some Cavitrons. Quote
L a r r y Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Cavitron black skirt red blades even catches catfish at night Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Cavitron black skirt red blades even catches catfish at night I've caught a few cats on cranks and spoons, but NEVER a buzzbait...wow. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 8, 2011 Super User Posted March 8, 2011 Advice on Cavitron maintenance: Your lure is going to get beat up, twisted and bent. Bend it back into shape and keep fishing. The worse it looks, the better it fishes! 8-) Quote
MSPbass Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 3/8 Vision Lures Honeybuzz with black skirt, silver blade, & rusted rivet. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Like I tell everyone-"Use what you have confidence with" thats better than any brand on the market Quote
