*** was a nice rod. The blanks are great, feel like a $200+ rod. The rest of it, they can keep it. The guides felt extremely cheap, the reel seat was not comfortable to hold, and the handles were extremely short for my liking, which made the rod tip heavy. Othwerwise, I enjoyed using them. That's the casting rod anyway. The spinning rod has the same cheap guides, but the handles are absolutely fantastic to fish with.

$575 will buy quite a few $79.99 Veritas's . Great rod at the old $99 price, even better at $79

my needs are a 7-4ish frog/swim bait rod which I would think would serve as a spinner bait rod as well, something for jigs, something for plastics, and jerkbaits. I have been a croix guy my whole life so I will be looking at the rage rods as well.

Since you are a St. Croix guy, I would look at the 7' MH Mojo Bass for the Frog/Swimbait/Spinnerbait.  It will only run you around $110 and its a nice rod

Check out the 7'4 mh irod genesis 2, 744C. It is extremely versatile and fits the bill for what you described above.

If you are just getting new rods..... I would get Abu Garcia Veracity to use as a crank bait rod..... then I would get a verity of veritas and Vendetta with the rest of the money

I have a 7'3" Fenwick Elite Tech Heavy Fast.  This rod had been discontinued.  But if the new ones are anything like the old, it would be a great rod even though it is for smallmouth and it is in your budget.  These rods are not a super sensitive but they are not bad.  The one I have is meant to take a beating. I use it for punching the heavy stuff, frogs and carolina rigs.  It has yet to let me down.
