geo426 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Can I throw 5 inch weightless senkos on a 6 foot 6 inch medium heavy loomis 783 imx spinning rod? Is this a good rod for senkos? 1 Quote
EvanT123 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 This is a lightweight, sensitive spinning rod with a fast, powerful taper for bass, walleye and light saltwater species, like snook and redfish. It will fish medium-sized jigs or soft plastics as well as spinnerbaits and it's a good choice for plastic worms or grubs in deep water where more power is required. Don’t let that light weight fool you... there’s plenty of power to handle a number of fishing applications and our proprietary IMX technology gives you the ultimate in performance. Right from the loomis website. I'd say a big yes!! Quote
ABW Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I use a Medium XF perfectly fine for weightless 5" senkos. I'm sure with the MH you will do just fine, the backbone will help Quote
Blues19 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Senkos are a heavy plastic, I think that will be fine for them Quote
John G Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I sometimes throw them with the GLX casting version of the same rod so the answer is yes. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 30, 2014 Super User Posted April 30, 2014 There is only 1 way to know and that's to try it. I doubt there would be any problem. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted April 30, 2014 Super User Posted April 30, 2014 Yes Sir... That's a sweet rod right there! Quote
