dhami013 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 What's the difference or use of a football jig as compared to using any other type of jig? Quote
backwater4 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Better in the rock and open water than a grass jig. I've even been using smaller ones around the docks with good success. Just not great when weeds are around. Quote

dhami013 Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 Right on, I just started Jig fishing and have been trying to get the hang of it. I got worm fishing down to a science so I thought I would try something new. Do you use trailers for the football headed ones as well? Quote
hookingem Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 I like a trailer on ALMOST all Jigs. (I like to try and slow the fall up a bit) so yep trailer on Football head jigs for me. Quote

I've been using the 1/4 oz. finesse football jig from strike king with success around rip rap. Quote
dhami013 Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 Thanks all for your input, I'll be back at the jig fishing Saturday on Lake Curtis. Quote
A-Rob Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 I agree with everyone I drag or snap the football jig where there is rock or sand bottom with some light weeds. If it is real weedy than I go back to the grass jig. Quote
