My son took my wife and our dog for a walk to the state forest nearby me. My wife didn't like the area too much. Then I told them about the Bigfoot reports about a night fisherman being heckled by a Bigfoot from across the body of water. I live not far from there and seen something moving very fast, faster than a horse after I spotted it in a field. Being a logger here and up at my camp in vt I have many stories about the unknown. You don't look for it, it will find you

I wouldn't put too much trust in what a night fisherman reports.  Most of them like to bend their elbow a lot when fishing at night and I don't mean casting.  I know this first hand as I do a lot of night fishing and even I have reported seeing some strange things............Not that I ever bend my elbow except to cast  :whistle1:

Deer are faster than a horse and like fields and woods, just saying.

I've spent a lot of time on the water at night and have heard some crazy things. It always turns out to be a nocturnal animal that we don't here much during the day, like a raccoon, owl, or even a frog.

i am totally caught up in bigfoot. i love to read reports and stories about encounters. i have read a ton of the BFRO sighting reports, have completed several states, in addition to stories on other sites. im not 100% sold there is a such thing, but i'm not gonna dismiss it altogether either....

bigbill, lots of the stories i have read have come from loggers/log camps, and fishermen/hunters....also have read quite a few from ex-military and LEOs...

Half the time you can't find a private tree to take a pee behind and yet Big Foot has managed to elude man all these years?!  Sorry, don't buy it.

your logic is flawed. one, the woods aint usually so packed you cant find a tree to pee behind. two, if people are reporting seeing it, has it really eluded man? or just accredited science and nature journals? also, there are often new species being discovered that have gone undetected for all this time. some of those species being of the ape variety...

seriously, there may not be much interest in discussing this here, but there is also no need for sarcastic or demeaning comments or pics/gifs.

i'd be willing to bet that there are people here who have had encounters but wont discuss it due to fear of ridicule from people dying to call someone crazy...

We can clone animals and human organs.

We have found evidence of water on Mars.

We have flown to the moon. (or have we?)

We have sattelites traveling thousands of miles in space.

We can separate siamese twins.

We discover microscopic marine species all the time.

We have found dinosaur fossils 100's of feet in the earth.

Mysteriously we can't find a 7 foot giant creature or it's remains that are being reported all over the US from one corner to the next.  Sorry Red, I just don't buy it.  Bobo and his squatch calling is all about $$$$.  Same goes for Mermaids, nessy, the skunk ape, and all the other urban legends on TV.  It's entertainment just like WWE wrestling.  I feel bad for the people that take it serious and not as entertainment.  I apologize if my GIF offended you, I meant no harm.

Wait, wrestling isn't real? lol

I'd imagine people chasing big foot around are avid wrestling fans and believe it is not rigged.

wrestling is real, its just scripted. big difference that is often misconstrued. when a guy gets body slammed, he actually gets body slammed, nothing fake about it. scripted yes, fake no. the match may be scripted and predetermined, but those guys take a beating for real.

MarkH, im not really offended, just didnt feel there is a place for that in this thread, everyone starts piling on and the thread gets closed is what that leads to. but for everything you listed, there are as many or more "unknowns" out there. some people believe there is a government coverup going on with bigfoot. like i said, im not convinced there is such a thing, but im not just going to write off the possibility either. one could argue, there is much more evidence available that bigfoot does exist and no evidence that it doesnt exist...

With all of the trail cameras that cover the woods during hunting season it stands to reason that if Bigfoot existed we would have a clear picture of him by now.

The tooth fairy on the other hand ......

It was just light humor as is much of the non-fishing content here on Bass Resource.  I do apologize and I will delete my post.  I could definitely sit down and have the debate on this subject but will refrain from doing so if the believers aren't willing.   Carry on.

Maybe bigfoot doesn't want to be found.

I do agree with Red that we can't necessarily write things like this off. There are a lot of things that people quickly dismiss as something you'd have to be crazy to believe in, and that attitude might well keep us from discovering certain things. I'm speaking generally here, not just about bigfoot. I'm still somewhat open minded. After all, new animals including some relatively large mammals, are still being found around the world.

BUT, that being said, I have come to agree with the logic of the sentence of Mark's that I quoted above. The fact that there are a dozen tv shows with entire teams of people actively searching for bigfoot has made me much more skeptical, because with all those people from every cable channel searching you would think someone would have found something by now.

Actively breeding populations of animals in populated areas are found pretty easy...especially what would be in the top two in size in north America. Big animals need lots of food and space. They dont exist....and that is about as serious a conversation I can have on this...lol

I personally don't believe it exists. But I also don't believe all those people out there on TV are actually searching for it either. Some may be, but I think a lot of them are just out in the woods at night with cameras, throwing rocks at each other, making noises, and creating a bunch of dramatic looking video footage so they can earn a paycheck selling entertainment to the masses. I think the makers of these shows are purely faking everything they're showing on camera. It's not Bigfoot throwing rocks, it's people hiding in the bushes saying "this is gonna look great on camera".

The beauty of this kind of filming is it doesn't require a shred of proof. They just film some Blair Witch movie kind of close ups of people talking seriously (and half scared) about seeing or hearing something in the woods, follow this with some tense, silent moments, some incomprehendable whispery dialogue exchange, then suddenly dramatic music, shaky camera images, people yelling and screaming, bleeped out curse words, rocks being thrown in on them, and then.........commercial! In just 15 minutes, you can save 15% on car insurance. So easy, even Bigfoot can do it. Or, my personal favorite, Jack's Links! Messin' with Sasquatch!

They're selling TV and products all at once. It would probably be a total shock to them if Bigfoot really did walk out of the woods on them. I'm guessing not a one of the so called searchers would be prepared for it, and may even think it was a prank, even though they're there supposedly to find the thing.

i think the show finding bigfoot has given a lot of people a sort of misrepresentation of actual "bigfooting". but its just that a show, for entertainment, they never were going to actually find bigfoot marching into the woods with production crews and cameras everywhere. but there are people out there putting in legitimate research, including the bfro. real or not, there are some pretty interesting stories out there about bigfoot. i enjoy reading them.

I wonder how many people don't believe in bigfoot, but they believe in God?

That is a serious question. I would be willing to bet that 80% of people who believe in God, do not believe in bigfoot.

Yeah, I completely agree. Some are just plain ridiculous. Some are more serious than others though. I still think with all the people in the woods where there have been alleged sightings, someone would have gotten good footage by now. Heck, almost everyone has a camera on their phone nowadays.

I can be sold on Aliens since the Solar System is so Large and Unexplored, however, my gut tells me aliens will never come to earth in my lifetime.

Bigfoot....He does exist, and he fights in the UFC..Guy is about 7'2" and he has a Growth Hormone DIsorder similar to what  Andre the Giant had. Talented Athlete actually, but the Yedi or BIgfoot in the woods not found with all the satellites in the sky, and if we can find a black box from an airplane 3000 feet underwater in an Ocean, I would think we would be onto the trail so to speak.

I have seen strange shapes and figures at night when fishing, and I can see how one could think they are people, but a coyote or pack of them can sound like they are talking while running. Darkness can be confusing for sure, and I know someone who claims to have seen one. I do not think he is lying, I just think he loves Mysteries and the Unknown, and if you believe it, then it is not a lie.
