I know the Abu Garcia Revo SX won the Outdoor Life award last year. I have a Pflueger Patriarch and love it but because of the review got a Revo SX and it's an amazing reel. Casts like 10-20 yards farther than my Pflueger.

Can you go wrong with a newer Abu Garcia?

I'd go with the Abu.

I have had a Pro Qualifier and its a nice reel for the money.  I got a Revo S last year and liked it so much I got another Revo S.  I would go for the Revo S, but that is just me. Love it! If they have the same model next year I may get another.  I like the $99 Lews too...

I've had both. Performance wise the only thing that was different to me was the dual breaking on the PQ. Cosmetically the revo seemed to have better colors and looked sleeker than the PQ. Didn't really noticed a weight differance between the 2. The revo a also felt better palming. Most of the differences are gonna be personal preference since they come from the same manufacturer the builds are gonna be quite similar.

I like the old Revo S reels more than the new one for some reason... I'd take the PQ over the new S

The PQ or the Lews Speed Spool.

The Pro Qualifier will be 79.99 again starting May 4th or 5th, I forget. Can't go wrong with that reel for 50 dollars under the price of a Revo S.

I have pq's and a revo s. The pq's are great for the price, but the revo s is simply more refined in my opinion. I dont use the mag brakes on the pq's personally and just stick to the cent. brakes (set and forget) If it was me, I would get another revo s. They are smoother and just better fit and finish IMO. BUT, they have their drawbacks. One being they only come in a 6.4:1 gear ratio while the pq comes in every ratio you could ever want.

On a side note, I like my revo s more than I did my sx and stx
