I have a 1996 Ranger 461 vs.  I just recently had the following work done.  New bilge pump, repairs to the livewells, power pole installation-installed on my jackplate.  Here's the problem: My boat is now taking in water and I have no clue why.  Took it out yesterday and within 3 hours or so noticed water rising from floor drain.  Rear compartment was 2/3 full of water.  Pumped it out but have no clue where water could be coming in.  This is my first boat so my knowledge is very limited.  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you paid to have the work done, and the boat didn't take on water beforehand, bring it back to the place that did the work. It could be something as simple as a loose fitting,

Problem is the dealer is hours from me and im trying to avoid that if possible. Hoping its an easy fix that I can do.  Just not sure where to start.

I would start with the livewell and bilge fittings. Fill up the livewell with a hose and look around for anything leaking. If you don't notice anything, you're going to have to make a trip back to the lake and check each pump one by one to try and isolate the problem

You can also remove the rear tray that gives you access to the pumps and hoses before you run it down to the landing. Leave the back straps on and back it down so the transom is about where it sits in the water if not slightly lower. The added water pressure should make the leak become evident pretty quick.  If the lake isn't very close, go with SLO's  method.
