While at Falcon last year, the transducer cable on the trolling motor for my Humminbird fish finder got cut. It worked for a bit, but it finally quit all together, giving false readings and such. This was installed for free from the shop where we bought the new trolling motor, but to save some $$$ on paying for a new transducer to be installed, I was wondering what all it took to do this on my own?

The boat is an '03 Ranger 175VS, if that helps aid in any advice. Thanks!

It is a fairly simple job, I've done several of them.  Take your time stringing the wires.  Make sure you don't crimp any of them.   Leave enough slack at the different pivot points when the motor is deployed.  Make sure you don't cut or crimp the cable when the trolling motor is stored.  It isn't that tough a job, just pay attention.

For the replacement, get the proper transducer for the application.

There are trolling motor puck versions for most technologies.

What Humminbird model is it???

If the motor is cable steer, it's not all that difficult. If it's a Terrova, there is more difficulty involved, and a Powerdrive would be the most difficult

It is a Humminbird 570 DI.

The XTM 9 DI 25 T is the trolling motor puck version that works with your unit. No adaptor needed and comes with the stainless steel clamp for the trolling motor.

It looks like the large one in this picture:
