Democracy is a form of government in which all eligible citizens participate equally either directly or indirectly through elected representatives in the proposal, development, and creation of laws. It encompasses social, religious, cultural, ethnic and racial equality, justice, liberty and fraternity.

It is by far the most challenging form of government - and this whole situation might be a good example.

Silver gave the white racist the boot. Anyone think he'll have the stones to punish the black racist who called for an all black league?

Separation of race is not illegal. As long as it is equal and everyone agrees with it.

Just ask Governor Wallace. "Segregation Today! Segregation Tomorrow! Segregation Forever!" Or something like that. Let the man that wants his segregated league get it. When it bankrupts him, maybe he will see that cooperation amongst the races is a good thing.

I mean even the Black Panthers and the Neo Nazis have figured this out. And they make these two seem like preschoolers. :D

I can post the picture of Farrakhan and Tom Metzger shaking hands if y'all want.

"White men can't jump" is a funny joke.

I guess the NBA has some weird franchise deals...............how can they ban/strip ownership of a person who privately owns something?

my point is this........ since it is clear the NBA picks and chooses who gets to own what...... and following that logic It is clearly the NBA that are the racists, since they have only "allowed" one black man to own a team.

Yep. White men are far and away the minority in 2014.

I'm just still stuck on how stupid this man is. I whole heartedly feel that hos attitude, thought process and words were hateful and not acceptable.

Yeah I know that alot of people are racist and a lot more aren't really racist but just ignorant. But for sake of goodness man!... Keep it to yourself. So many forms of communication and social interaction...and the higher you are on the food chain the more of a target you are. Either get with the 21 century or zip your lips shut.

Now you Donald Sterling are banned from the NBA for life and short of 2.5 mil. ....and you will probably be forced to sell if you aren't voted out.

Mixed feelings here, becuase if he's forced to sell, he hits a nice pay day. He bought the team for 15 mil and now they are worth 700 mil.

If he wasn't such a dirt bag, he might have seen that with the clippers doing well now with faces like CP3 and Blake Griffin, the value of the team will probably go over a Billion in the next five years.

Such an idiot. Rant over now

No matter how big of an idiot someone may be, they are entitled to their opinion. He said something stupid in private. Have you heard some of the things Charles Barkley said about Oklahoma on national TV? It was considered funny and a joke simply because he is a black man. I would love to know what Charles has said in private about the people of Oklahoma.

who cares what he said........ he still should be able to own the team.

if the players are that offended they will demand a trade

if the fans are that upset they will not attend the games.

the market will decide.

thank God we lived in a market driven country, until today. Today proves emotions trump logic.

and truth be told......... I wouldn't want my wife/girlfriend/or daughter walking in and fraternizing with my players either if I owned the team.

I think he was trying to keep it in private............ he did have a reasonable expectation of privacy, whether he knew it was taped it or not....... if he didn't know it was being taped then he has a grief for lawsuit.

who released the tapes???? That is the question I have, and why was the conversation being taped??

My point was they defend what they agree with.

Both men can say whatever they want when they want.......... if we don't like we don't have to support their product or listen to it.

I'm the same way right now. My jumping abilities greatly deminished when I hit 30. Then again being 6'2" and 318lbs ain't helping any. Maybe once I get back down to 260 my abilities will return.

Jb I agree that all people are allotted the god given right to have their own opinions and views. But here's where we are with this. Mr. sterling is apart of group made up of 30 owners and their ball clubs. The group has a standard of conduct that insures the group (nba) can grow and reach out tonall demographics. Any violations of this code of conduct can put a black eye on the league as a whole ans cause detrimental effefts By placing himself in a position that a mistress, a women who is nothis wife ccan record him making several racist remarks is indeed detrimental. For example his team has already lost 12 major sponsors in less than 3 days. We live in a world that is very PC and the sponsors and networks that make the NBA world to round are ticked off. Besides when Mr.Sterling bought the team and entered the leqgue, he knew and understood the rules and ramifications of owner misconduct. He may own the team, but he can be voted out of the NBA. The NBA will not tolerate any owners or executives that put them in a bind.

Teal, I get that........and we agree on much...... but if the NBA is going to get all high and mighty then maybe they should hired some blacks in the front office, have more black owners, lower the ticket prices because you know there are mostly whites in the stands...... or force teams to have short fat white guys on the team in fairness...... where do you stop it?

of course I don't agree with any of that because it lessens the league as a whole......... and so does forcing an owner out.

if the Clippers lose sponsors, that is a Clippers issue not a NBA issue.

the NBA is a market driven trade just like anything else...... yet everyone wants to inject opinion and emotion into it.

if the NBA is really concerned with image...... maybe they should ban tattoos and the language their players use.

All I want is the knife to cut both ways.....................and it hasn't yet.

I like how Clippers players are all up in arms. Sterling has been known as a racist for YEARS, this is not a new thing..there have been countless people/witnesses that have come out and recounted his racism, much of the recounting done in a court of law. Every player that signed a contract to play for that team knew of his feelings, but overlooked them for the payday. Now that a stink is being made, its cool to ride the wagon and rail against the guy. He said a bunch of moronic crap, so what..his words really mean nothing, after all his players, mostly non white, are still collecting millions from him.
