FishinFool22 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 The people who follow the NBA. I would like to hear y'alls opinion on the Donald Sterling situation.
Super User 00 mod Posted April 28, 2014 Super User Posted April 28, 2014 And by opinion, he means board friendly, kid friendly and non-political. Jeff 2
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted April 28, 2014 Super User Posted April 28, 2014 He is ignorant, he thought he was having a private conversation, she basically stole 1.8 million dollars from him and she was trying to get him back. That's my board friendly/kid friendly response.
Super User flyfisher Posted April 28, 2014 Super User Posted April 28, 2014 Wow, i cannot believe she is being held liable in some people's minds. Doesn't matter what she was there doing or what her motive was/is, dude is a moron plain and simple, just so happens he is a rich moron.
Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 28, 2014 Super User Posted April 28, 2014 He was absolutely wrong, he wasn't the first person that thought "the mike was turned off". Given his ethnic background he knows what racism and discrimination is, he knows better but this is not his first off color remark. What makes his remarks even worse is he chooses to be a selective racist, his g/f is of mixed heritage. There are some that believe wealth allows a greater latitude in personal conduct, in reality these people need to be held to a higher standard. He deserves what he gets, but I'm not so sure Adam Silver has enough power alone to come down hard.
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted April 28, 2014 Super User Posted April 28, 2014 Least he is honest about how he feels. Now instead of lying and bluffing his way out. He needs to come out and defend his ignorant view. Ain't nothing worse than a closet rascist. I don't agree with what he said. You can't claim to only hate certain members of a group, and not all of them. Its either all or nothing. Me I hate everyone. Don't matter what their ethnicity. White people are included in this. Humanity as a whole makes me sick. 2
Super User MCS Posted April 28, 2014 Super User Posted April 28, 2014 Boy he got into the wrong business. Shoulda bought a hockey team instead. 7
Super User BrianinMD Posted April 28, 2014 Super User Posted April 28, 2014 The whole tape has been made available, initial reports were an edited down version. There is much more hate in the other portions. There is no place for hate like this.
FishinFool22 Posted April 28, 2014 Author Posted April 28, 2014 I am just tired of hearing about. i just want to enjoy the playoffs and not hear about Donald Sterling. I do not agree with what he said but I want to watch the game in full screen not in split screen because they keep asking people about Donald. Just my 02. 1
Super User Teal Posted April 28, 2014 Super User Posted April 28, 2014 No place for it. Unacceptable. Sad thing is its all going to be there...people are always going to be inconsiderate. Insecure and ignorant.
Super User slonezp Posted April 28, 2014 Super User Posted April 28, 2014 Devils advocate. Aside from a few feelings, no one was hurt by the comments made. As an American citizen, does he not have a right to freedom of speech? Everyone is allowed to have their own opinions. Condemn the man for what was said and move on, POTUS should be concerned with other things beside this. 8

Ditto........except I am not playing devils advocate. addition thoughts of mine: the players are a bunch of hypocrites..... they are not offended, they are sellouts. If they are really offended and truly people of principle they would quit and REALLY make a stand ............... of course they cant cause they signed up for this LONG time ago and they are into for the money. all players black, white, otherwise are compromised, and lets not mince words here, sports in general IS the modern day slave trade, whether you want to admit it or not. 2
Smallmouth Hunter Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I am not trying to steer this thread off course or anything, but have you seen the responses that some people have made to Donald Sterling? Snoop Dogg (a famous African American rapper) made one where he calls him a "white boy" and a "redneck". Talk about double standard. Don't take this post the wrong way. I have nothing against any race and treat them equally. I am not in any way backing up Donald Sterling for his inappropriate and cruel words and racism. 4
Brian Needham Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 what I don't get is where Magic Johnson thinks he gets off??????? Really dude?? you are SOOOOO upset by words? How do you think your wife feels that you cheated so many times you caught AIDS? yet Magic is some hero because of it but Sterling is a goat cause he shot off at the mouth? some people really need to get a grip on what's real in life. 3
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted April 28, 2014 Super User Posted April 28, 2014 The whole thing is just dumb. Who really cares if he likes black people. Jesse Jackson dislikes white people. Yet there is no uproar about that anymore. Everyone has opinions. Everyone was raised different and learned different things and views. In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter. I mean, I dislike pipe fitters. Where's the uproar about that? If he wants to hate people of color. Let him hate people of color. Why try an change his mind about it? People are too dang PC today. Sheesh. 3

Sharpton spouts off about how Sterling has this long history of this...... then why is Sharpton speaking at the conference as sterling, greeting him with open arms???? Sterling is not the problem.....the media and how it wants to portray everything is. 2
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted April 29, 2014 Super User Posted April 29, 2014 Who cares? Only people who post in this thread. 3
shanksmare Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 The plot thickens: rumor has it that good old Magic is interested in buying a share of the Clippers .... must just be a coincidence! 2
John G Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 sports in general IS the modern day slave trade, Huh! Say what! Did slaves make 30 mil a year? I don't know, just askin! 1
preach4bass Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Silver gave the white racist the boot. Anyone think he'll have the stones to punish the black racist who called for an all black league?
Super User A-Jay Posted April 30, 2014 Super User Posted April 30, 2014 Democracy is a form of government in which all eligible citizens participate equally either directly or indirectly through elected representatives in the proposal, development, and creation of laws. It encompasses social, religious, cultural, ethnic and racial equality, justice, liberty and fraternity. It is by far the most challenging form of government - and this whole situation might be a good example. A-Jay
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted April 30, 2014 Super User Posted April 30, 2014 "White men can't jump" is a funny joke. "Black men can't read" is racist. 1
