Skeet22 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Was thinking about some things to try this weekend to imitate a small Bass or fry and thought about threading a watermelon 3.5" magic shad on a scrounger.. Anyone try this combo?? Quote
SmokeRise1 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 There has been ALOT of talk on this forum lately about using this bait on a Sworming Hornet. Quote
Vinny Chase Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Where's RW? Try bottom bouncing this bait 8-) Quote
airborne_angler Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Roadwarrior is the one that told me about this. I think the Live Magic Shad will perform just as good on a Chatterbait as well. Ive seen this setup in the latest issue of In Fisherman. Didnt Boyd Duckett throw a CB with a Magic Shad in the Classic? I know they are killer on the chatterbait just never heard of anyone using them on a scrounger.. Quote
baluga Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 I personally don't mix lake fork magic shad w/ scrounger head, both have their own action/vibration by itself. Mixing them will result to too much action/vibration. You could even call them vibrator when mixed together.. . But if that is the kind of action you wanted on your lure, go for it. You'll never know until you try it. I use scrounger w/ zoom fluke and weighted hook or lead head for lake forest magic shad. Quote
NOVA Angler Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 I think people are forgetting that there is a Magic Shad (fluke style bait) and Live Magic Shad (soft jointed swimbait). Just wanted to make sure everyone is on the same page. Which was Boyd using as a trailer? Quote
Dockhead Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 I tried that combo on the Harris Chain last month. Actually it was the scrounger "jig", has a skirt on it. Just messed with it a little in the morning instead of a true swim jig, had no takers. With my luck, someone in the Elites probably tore em up on that rig there today. Quote

The combination has produced a lot of bass for me the last 18 months, both green and brown. Several BR members have seen the lure in action! 8-) Quote
