dreamertino Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Chatterbaits do I fish them on the same tackle or stiffer rod? Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted April 27, 2014 Super User Posted April 27, 2014 I use my spinnerbait rod for chatterbaits too, I know there is a few anglers that use a moderate fast for chatterbaits and you can use that too but I don't have any hooking problems with a fast action so use what you have for the spinnerbait and don't worry unless you miss a lot of fish. Mccallister25 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Anytime I use a chatterbait I use my crankbait rod which is moderate action. Iv caught fish on it, but it would probably be more beneficial to use a stiffer rod, at least thats my opinion. Quote
dreamertino Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Do you guys think a medium fast would suit it Quote
Super User Teal Posted April 27, 2014 Super User Posted April 27, 2014 I treat it like a jig rod because I've got a big Ol Exposed hook. I really like a xf or F action. I want to be able to get a good quick hookset. Now the timing on the hookset and when you feel the bump or weight on your line is something I've learned. A 7'mh f or xf is really all you need. No need to get super particular for the sake of it. Quote
dreamertino Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Do you guys use the same type of split tail trailed on a chatterbait as you would a spinnerbait? Quote
Super User Teal Posted April 27, 2014 Super User Posted April 27, 2014 I rarely use split tails. I mostly ill use paddletails, grubs and craws. ( in that order) Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted April 27, 2014 Super User Posted April 27, 2014 You'll,be just on the sane the same rod 1 Quote
