Lunker Hunt Frog...any Users?

Interesting surprise,  was at Walmart and of course had to go to the measley fishing section.  To my surprise next to the KVD frog, is the Lunker Hunt Lunker frog 1/2 oz, one color choice;  green tea. Walmart price, $7.96.

 

So I bought one for curiosity sake. I tried it out in the pool and well...I don't think I'm all that impressed.  Leg action is good, it does take water like a regular hollow frog. But it sure doesn't act like it does on the TW product video.

 

So those who own this, has the legs held up after some fish caught?  I guess that's my concern, after spending almost $8, I want it to last long like a Spro or Snag Proof frog. 

 

Also, what is your review of this frog?

I have them only really fished them 2 or 3 times, frog season for me just started and it's only at certain spots. The action on mine are fine and I have had some results. The bigger the fish I would imagine could tear up the legs bits that's with any lure, I have had fish destroy my frogs hooks on my Stanley's and on my booyah.

These frogs work best in open water and by pads not so much in thick vegetation IMO. I have had all my luck in open water/pads. You need to practice the retrieve and you will get the action of the legs down right. Best color for me is the brownish one, I forget the actual name but it's brown, yellow, black.

Funny I ordered 2 from TW a while back, then academy had an online sale and they were $4.99 so I picked up 4 more, then one day I was in Walmart and my 2yr old son picked one off the rack and said Ribbit Ribbit, lol, so I bought it. Glad walmart carries them I haven't seen them at any of my local tackle shops yet

I bought one recently. Full price and it takes on so much water it doesn't even last a single cast. Sinks in about 5 seconds. I'm sure that I got a defective one. I've heard of people having similar issues

This is so disappointing! The moment that I saw these I was pumped and couldn't wait tot ry them out this frog season, but I've heard more negative reviews than positive. As a big frog user I'll probably try them out regardless, so you can expect a full review when I do.

I also noticed Walmart carries these frogs. I have to say, that I am guilty for falling for good marketing. These frogs imo, are not all of that. Yes, the legs kick and stuff, but these frogs do stand not stand up to our fish down here is S. FL. They tear and lose their limbs very quickly. The one interesting thing I found was that if you replace the legs with skirts they are not bad. LOL...

They wil get the fish to bite but those legs pop off about every three fish.... disappointing...

I tried them last year and don't care for them. Aside from the problem of filling up with water, they had a tendency to roll over.

I mean design, the Bait ball was the winner if memory serves me correctly. I have not tried them but they did a great job of packaging and did a good job with color patterns...Im usually a sucker for packaging and the Yamamoto hard baits have been catching my eye lately as they just look so good....

I bought one and wasn't impressed with the action on the legs. Took on avg amount of water. I wont buy another

I had planned on buying one. But the reviews are not good and so I don't scrapped the plan. Get plenty of frog fish on my koppers, spros, and pad crashers just chugging them on the mats and walking them in more open spots.

They are fantastic and have been catching their limit nonstop since they were released-  too bad I'm talking about fishermen taking the bait and not fish.

I thought they looked pretty good and bought one. It'll be a little while before frog season starts up here though. When it does I'll do a full review. One thing to note after looking at it, the body is cast in the same mold as the Live Target frogs. The only difference is the legs, so we'll have to see how it really works.
