atpns1234 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 We have property on a private lake that I fish on a regular basis in south Alabama. I have never seen nor looked for crawfish but it's creek fed and common sense would say their in there. I want to start more jig fishing and assume that a bass will eat it even if it might be foreign to it. Quote
gripnrip Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Oh I'm sure they are there. Flip some rocks in the creek and I'll put money on you finding some in the first 10 minutes. Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 27, 2014 Super User Posted April 27, 2014 Bass do not care if there are crawfish or not! They will eat a jig anyway 7 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted April 27, 2014 Super User Posted April 27, 2014 This is the way I look at it. I catch a lot of fish on Zoom Brush Hogs. I don't know of any creature alive that looks like a brush hog, but the bass eat them anyway. I think if it looks alive, it will catch bass. Quote
Super User Raul Posted April 27, 2014 Super User Posted April 27, 2014 It is 1000% safe to assume that even if there are no crawfish you can fish jigs with the 1000% certainty that you can and will catch fish with them. Quote
Mccallister25 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Oh, if the bass are there, they will eat a jig. Have of the plastics iv seen dont look like a real critter but were still catchin em on em. Go have fun with a jig. It's addicting. 1 Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 29, 2014 Super User Posted April 29, 2014 Jigs can resemble baitfish or panfish as well. They will nail them anywhere. If the pond is fed by a year round stream it probably has a few crayfish anyway. Quote
MichBassMan Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 If there are bass in there, they will eat jigs. Quote
