Explain your definition of jig trailer?

I have fished spinner baits with pork chunks attached to slow the fall, here the basic technique. Single #5 gold Colorado blade, ¼ to 3/8 oz body, white skirt, & a white Uncle Josh craw frog, kicker frog, or original #11 pork frog. Cast the bait close to brush, stumps, or lay downs letting it helicopter down, then quickly lift it and repeat. This technique works well on pre-spawn bass staging in shallow water (2-8').

I go about half and half on trailers. I like a double curly tail or a single tail 5" grub when I am using trailers on spinnerbaits. However, if by trailers you mean chunks, I don't use them on spinnerbaits.

For me, it makes a difference an night.  I get more bites with than without a trailer.

The only trailer I've ever tried on a spinnerbait is a curly tail grub. I had decent success with it. I Have a spinnerbait set-up with a chatterbait trailer just waiting for the weather to settle down so I can try it out.

I'll let you know how it works.

Never use a trailer on a spinnerbait, just a trailer hook. :)

Same here.

I use mostly 1/4oz and 3/8oz spinnerbaits. A jig trailer, something that looks like a craw, tends to overpower the bait, keeping it from running true at anything except crawling along the bottom, dead slow.

I never use a trailer hook, but always use a trailer. Torn up power worms and flukes are my most used trailer baits.

I use a trailer on my spinnerbait almost always just gives it a little more body bulks it up and have had alot more success with the trailer than without.

if you like grubs on your spinnerbait...then try a swimmin chunk sometimes.  I will trim the "head" part down alittle so that it isn't so bulky there and doesn't catch water and change the bait very much...and the legs work awesome..just like when swimmin a jig.

Thats all a spinnerbait is, anyway.  a jig with an arm and blades.
