Went to the local sporting goods store with the wife today. She never goes in with me but today she did, as I was standing staring at the 60.00 frabill net I have been wanting, my wife grabs the net and says let's go!

I walked out with a big smile and a new net. I need to talk her into going more often. ;D

I know what you mean...When I tell my fiance how much I want a ranger, she replies "you know when we get married I'll be helping you pay for your boat, just as long as I can read while you fish"

All my fishing buddies ask if she has a sister haha

Shoot, my wife will slap the life out of me every time I buy tackles...hahaha

Looks like you took the bait!  Once you get married she will be like, what boat?

My wife bought me a St. Croix Mojo baitcasting rod for X-mas and another one for our anniversary. Right now I've been looking at a bigger boat and she wants me to get one so she'll have more room to tan when we're fishing. Last weekend she asked me to take this Sunday off so we can go fishing because I bought her a new St. Croix Avid pearl and Quantum Energy PT because he old pole got busted last time we went and she wants to try her new one out. She had to twist my arm a little bit but she talked me into it  ::).

My wife thinks I must me less of a fisherman because I have and buy so much tackle.  She says "if you were good, you wouldn't need all that stuff."  Ha Ha Ha......new boat is going to be a tough sell.... :)

Ahhhh...She's one up on you. Don't be fooled. All she's doing is hoarding ammunition.

"Honey, I'm getting this purse(or necklace or whatever)"

---"We can't afford it right now"

"But I bought you that stupid net. You don't even catch fish and if you do they're certainly not big ones. I'm getting this purse!"

---You walk away with your tail between your legs.

My girl is pulling the "You don't need another boat" song and dance right now.

"We're not going to do anything stupid are we."

---"Who's we?"

"I mean you"

---"It'll be much easier to fish out of a bass boat than the boat I have now. Plus there is more storage for my rods and tackle."

"But what about when I want to go out on the boat?"

---"I fish more than you want to go out on the boat, plus it's my money"(Don't ever use those words ;D)

"Then you don't tell me how I should spend my money!"

---"Fine!"

"Fine!"

Onandonandonandonandonandon.

...and we're not married. ;D

BTW I will be getting a new boat.

My wife tells me I have enough fishing stuff to last me a life time.  She does not understand as she does not have a hobby she is passionate about.

I always try and buy her something a week before I really want something new that way she does not give me a hard time, but this was out of nowhere! Well at least for now :)

My wife is just getting into fishing. So I went and got a bigger jon boat. 14' tracker from a 11' sears to take her with me. My problem I still get the words "do you you really need this now" "It's your money do what you want  with it...........but I think it's stupid"................ just for her to either try to claim it to having to share like my hooks, weights, whatever she claiming. I bought her own lil tackle box just for her to attack mine and gut it. Hopefully we will have fun together. She does get excited when we went bank fishing last year and boy don't let her be the only one to catch something. She doesn't hush up and it doesn't matter if your spend your time retying her hooks and trying to get her line out from being snagged.

My wife just bought me a new 5600 CL Rocket for my birthday.

Plus a half-dozen Rapala baits (two X-Raps, two Rattlin' raps, two jointed Shad raps), and a couple of packs of Culprit worms.

My wife has a good job, cooks my food, takes care of the kids, and lets me get " friendly" with her.........I could care less if she buys me fishing stuff.

My wife is wonderful and she has been a great mother as well.  I buy what I what, no questions ever asked, but I already paid my dues.  Raised my family, sent them to college, married them off and put away for my retirement..........

I'm just thankful my wife doesn't fish, I'm not about to stop every 45 minutes so she can take a whizz.

My wife (and most of the other posters wives, I'm sure) does all that too. But it's a welcome and much-appreciated bonus that she also takes an interest in and supports my hobbies.
