masterbass Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Anyone use scrounger heads with super fluke or other soft jerk baits? Any feedback? Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 It has been my #1 bait so far this year. There is a good video with A martens where he gives some modifications he does. I just rig em and throw em. A slower steady retrieve seems to work best for me. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted April 23, 2014 Super User Posted April 23, 2014 We have done well with scroungers & mag flukes as well as 6" & 7" sluggos. Slow reeling them near bottom. 1 Quote
bassin is addicting Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 scrounger and a lake fork live magic shad...one of my go-to's. and i hope it produces at Wilson next week too.. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted April 23, 2014 Super User Posted April 23, 2014 These are really good on suspended fish, I found that out 4 years ago when I didn't have a swarming hornet minnow spin head, we found fish suspending at 10' of 27' and 28' and the only thing they were hitting was my buddy's fluke on the swarming hornet head. The only thing I had was some 1/4oz scroungers and so I rigged a scrounger up with my fluke and it was game on, it worked very well for suspended fish, not as well as the hornet but good enough that I keep them in my bag during the summer. Super User A-Jay Posted April 23, 2014 Super User Posted April 23, 2014 I would really appreciate it if you guys would just stop posting anything about the Scrounga - They don't work at all and there is simply no reason to throw or even own any. A-Jay 4 Quote
Megastink Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I'm glad you posted this. I was wondering the same thing! 2 Quote
Super User WRB Posted April 24, 2014 Super User Posted April 24, 2014 Don't even think about Xtreme Custom Tackle Scroungers. Tom PS; use the search tool 3 Quote
BenBassmaster Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Don't rule out Scrounger's Swim Jigs. I've been catch lots of fish on those. Especially the Citrus color,( fluke trailer works best for me.) Quote

Nice_Bass Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I prefer it with a sluggo however in order to help me get rid of some of the excess smaller flukes I have I have been rigging it upside-down actually and find that it moves a bit better for me and is quicker to rig. I add a small rubberband to help keep the bait on there since I try to keep glue off the boat as much as possible... Quote
Super User Teal Posted April 25, 2014 Super User Posted April 25, 2014 Its a bait that I love in deep cranking situations. 1oz and 3/4 with a fluke is deadly. I'm tempted to tie some light ones on an A-Rig. I will try that sometime and will report back. Quote
