Is there any difference between fluorocarbon/mono labeled as leader vs mainline fluorocarbon/mono?

Posted

No mono or flouro sold as leader vs mono or flouro you'd use as mainline

Example would be Seagar sells blue label mainline and blue label leader material. Is there anything special about lines labeled as leader material is a better way to word my question

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember that the 'leader material' was the same stuff as the filler spool, just not as much per box since you won't be completely spooling up a reel with it.

The leader line is generally stiffer and perhaps a little more resistant to abrasion.
