Husky Jerk is just fine, although I do have several B'Freeze jerks (the original Japanese version of the Pointer). I am really not convinced that success is about a particular brand of bait. More about conditions you are faced with and, of course, depth & speed control.

Another vote for Husky Jerks. The 4-inch size in gold worked VERY slowly is my go-to bait just after ice out. I have caught fish well over 6 pounds in eastern Mass with it in very cold water.

Really? No one has mentioned Megabass Vision 110? Hands down has outfished every other rip bait I have ever thrown in just about every d**n condition. Side by side, same areas, same casts, even having a buddy throw a LC in there first before I do, Vision wins.

Of course, there are always some circumstances that call for a smaller, or deeper diving ripbait, but in general, that Vision 110 is tough to beat!

I was thinking the same thing

Was just about to post the exact same thing.

I've had success with X-raps, Pointers, Rogues, and husky jerks.

I really found it interesting how much the Megabass Vision 110 pretty much dominated any discussion on the FLW's Beaver Lake tourney. I hadn't really heard much of them, they definitely look great at ***.
