I recently bought this boat (Tracker PF16) and I'm working on replacing the steering cable. I opened up the side panel and noticed all this dried foam. Can I cut it out? Well it hurt the boat if I do? I'd really like to turn it into rod storage.

I've attached a photo. Thanks for the help yall!

That's the flotation foam if it's removed and the boat fills with water it will sink. Another concern is if someone is injured or drowns in your boat the lawyers/insurance co will have a hay day
