Ok so I am very new to soft plastics the only soft plastic I've thrown is a super fluke. After reading tons and tons of good reviews on here about RageTail products I decided that I am going to give them a serious try. That being said what are some must have Ragetail baits and in what color. If you could also tell me how to rig them that would be great. Thanks.

I am also new to soft plastics, so I am far from an expert, but here are my early experiences.

So far I have tried the Craw and the Space Monkey and caught fish on both. I have fished both of them Texas-rigged with a 2/0 or 3/0 EWG or offset hook with a small unpegged weight. I have caught fish both hopping or dragging them slowly along the bottom, as well as simply casting and retrieving them like you would a spinnerbait. The claws on these things flutter like crazy when retrieved so when they are quickly retrieved back they have a real good action, which is why I think swimming them back is effective.

As far as colors go, I have used both black/blue and watermelon red in the Craw, and double header (a watermelon red/green pumpkin looking laminate) in the Space Monkey. On both I have used Spike It on the claws (yellow on the green baits, orange on the black/blue baits).

I also have a pack of the Cut-R worms in watermelon red but have not tried them yet.

As you can probably guess, in my limited experience I have found Rage baits to be extremely effective. They, along with senkos, are now my main go-to soft plastic baits. I had read some reviews that the Rage Tail baits were not too tough, but that has not been my early experience. I typically get 3-4 fish on each bait before it is too torn up to continue. There may be other companies that make worms that are tougher, but the Rage baits aren't one fish and done like some reviews I had read.

My only problem has been in areas where there are lots of bluegills, the claws get nipped off when I swim the bait back. When I fish it on the bottom it is not a problem, but when those claws are really fluttering the panfish can't control themselves and tear them apart.

I've always been partial to the 7" thumper.

Well, I pretty much fish them all!

These would be my top picks: Menace, Shellcracker, Cut-R, Lizard, Baby Craw, Craw & Lobster,

Later when the water warms up a bit,  Toad, Thumper, Anaconda and Recon.

For flipping the Smokin' Rooster and I'm sure our next new favorite The Bug.

1st used the Lobster, then Lizard, and now the Menace...all three work better than any type plastic like them....right now Menace out performing the Fat Ika...which i thought would never happen...lol!

If you want to fish a Carolina rig right, you BETTER have some thumpers.

Rage tail craw in the Bama craw color. I suggest getting some weighted swimbait hooks too. This is one of my top rigs and usually always give it a try. Just about any Rage tail bait works on aa weighted swimbait hook

Some of my favorites are a Blue Craw shell cracker, Menace in anything green, and Rage craws in just about any color.

I'll try those out. I can't wait till my order from you arrives though!!

Space Monkey on an Evo Shake2 jighead

T-rigged Lobster

Menace on a 1/16oz or 1/8oz Fin-Tech Titleshot jighead

Cut-R, rigged any way

Shellcracker on a keel weighted hook

Water clarity determines color selection.

Hmm... Must haves. I would say the Thumper and the the Rage Craw would be what I have caught most of my fish on out of the Rage Tail line up. Color depends on forage, water color, etc.

i really like the rage craw.  Check out fluke masters videos on youtube they have really taught me a lot.  He uses a rig called the rage craw in the one its the craw on a weighted swimbait hook.  The action is great and you can swim it or hop it along the bottom.  I am really interested in their frog they have out too i have seen great reviews when it warms up a little up here i am going to have to give her a try.  I have just started using the rage products but they are great thus far.

Everything in my local pond likes the Space Monkeys. Tonight I caught three largemouth as well as this chunky little black bullhead, who thought the green Space Monkey hopped slowly along the bottom looked like dinner.
