I am going to buy one of these two reels. I have 3 of the speed spools and love them. They are really good reels, esp for 100.00. I had 2 Tournament Lasers and really didn't care for them so im leary of getting the regular tournament but i held one in my hands the other night and really loved the feel of it. So for those that have used both, do you think it is worth the extra 50 for the tournament or stick with what i know and love. Thanks!

I have both the speed spool and tournament speed spool.  The main difference for me is the dual breaks.  They both cast great.  If you want the option of centrifugal breaks, clicking tension knob and the extra 4lb of drag go for it.  You can probably find it for about $125.

I have the tournament speed spool, and I would highly recommend it. I haven't used the regular speed spool though, so I can't tell you if the tournament is worth the extra money or not. I actually found my tournament for less than $120 though.

I own Speed Spools as well as the Tournament MGs.  I do like the speed spool but with that being said I just ordered 3  of the tournaments.  I'm always looking to get higher quality products, I imagine casting will be a bit better as well as overall smoothness.  Can't go wrong with either of them though.

I believe he is talking about the tournament speed spool. Not the tournament pro.

You will love the dual brakes the Tournament has. BTW, the TMG doesn't have dual brakes

I really like having dual brakes on my reels. Not knocking other reels by any means, but personally, I like the "fine tune" adjustments I can make having both sets of brakes. If you search around you probably find the Tournament Speed Spool for 100-110.
