Hey fellow anglers,

I have see this brand get more and more common in my local tackle shop, but holy hell they are expensive.  Does anyone have any experience with this brand of lures, and are they worth it, They look really good, but my PopPop always told me, Lures catch fishermen, and I don't wanna be dishing out a lot of cash for something thats just as good as one thats 1/4 the price

Thanks

If you are talking about the frogs they are some of the higher end frogs.  To each their own on buying them, I personally like different brands but I know others only use the Koppers.  Just about testing them out and finding what you like.

They work well for me. The most productive one I own is the golden shiner 1/2 oz. lipless crank in silver/blue back. But have had luck on all the lipless ones in one way or another.

Caught my PB on Koppers Live Target Bluegill Wakebait. It was my go to bait last year, I caught dozens of bass on it. If you check out my post from last fall you can see some of the fish I caught using Koppers Wakebait. Was is worth 20bucks? Hell yes

Just out of curiosity, what state do you fish in and what kind of water clarity do you fish in?

I use their live target frog because they look great and is still around the same price range as other frogs I fish.

I didn't have a scale at the time :..( It was the biggest Pickerel I have ever caught though same with the first pic of the bass. After that day of fishing I went straight to TW and picked up a digital scale lol.

Haha, I called my grandfather PopPop too.

As for the Live Target baits, I love the frogs, they have a different action from the rest of the soft bodied frogs out there, they 'bob' in the water which is really good action around pads and other crud on top of the water... I am not sold on the cranks yet, I have a couple, but they don't seem to produce any better than other cranks.

I have quite a few, including most of their frogs and have found them to be great lures , albeit a little on the expensive side ,but they are great lures ....

I've never been a fan of excruciating detail in lure color patterns for fish. Depth & speed control are always paramount, but when it comes to top waters, color is even less of a significant concern than presentations below the surface. Bass are certainly opportunistic feeders and I seriously doubt that those detailed lure patterns play any significant part in whether or not the strike occurs. More importantly though is if using those kind of lures increases your confidence or not. If it does, then that's a big plus for your success. For me, it isn't.

My friend owns a frog and I own a mouse I would say they are worth it and they are hard to get snagged depending what tackle you are using they are well worth it in my mind but it's up to you.

I'm going to order some mister twister New rats this year. There affordable plastics.

I've seen the mouse and rat baits used around structure.

Well guys I bought a Koppers Frog today, I did some online research I only saw good things about them, I also saw the Spro's and pad crashers getting a lot of attention, but the kopper was on sale in my local Dicks Sporting Goods, so I left with one, really looking forward to when the frogs start coming out and the fish start biting them.
