I'm trying to narrow down the electronics I'm going to install on a new boat. I called Humminbird but I don't have the time to continue wait on hold. So I would appreciate your help please.

So far I'm looking to install a Terrova 112/US2/i-Pilot Link on the bow with a 999ci HD SI Combo and run a 1199ci HD SI Combo at the console. I plan to mount the side imaging transducer on the stern.

I would like to be able to view the traditional 2D sonar off of the trolling motor, as well as side imaging from the transducer located at the stern, on the 999 unit up front. My question for you guys is, what equipment do I need to accomplish this? Let me know if I need to provide any more information. Thanks, Josh

You will need the Ethernet hub. The old model is in short supply and I don't believe the new version has hit the market yet.(the old version is not compatible with the ONIX and ION line) You also need 2 AS EC QDE Ethernet Adapter Cables, and 2 appropriate length Ethernet cables dependent on where you mount the hub. You can also mount the 999's SI transducer to the trolling motor and have SI readouts where you are fishing rather than 20 feet behind you. I have that exact trolling motor and I'm using the HDSI transducer rather than the US2

Minn Kota currently has a mail in rebate on that motor if purchased before June(I think) and don't forget to register the Humminbird units with hummingbird Select to get an additional year of warranty.

Thanks for the quick response. Do you have trouble with the HDSI transducer cable getting in the way while you're running your trolling motor? I tried doing that about 4 years ago and found I had to be extremely careful and make sure it didn't get wrapped up.

I found this on Basspro, http://www.basspro.com/Humminbird-InterLink-Network-Connection-System-Module/product/98217/  it doesn't have a very good description, but appears to come with 4 cables. Would I need any more than this?

Interlink is NOT Ethernet and is being phased out. You need the AS ETH 5PXG

As far as the cable, the Humminbird transducer cable fits in the groove of the Terrova. I have it wire tied at the top and bottom of the shaft and silicone in place the entire length of the shaft. The transducer is mounted to a Transducer Shield and Saver trolling motor mount. I routed all the cables thru the curled power line for a clean look. The silicone isn't pretty, but it isn't horrible either.

Hey, I really appreciate the help you have given me. You changed my mind and now I'm going to run the sign imaging transducer off the trolling motor, for the bow unit. Now I will just be sharing the mapping and waypoints between the two units. I compiled a list of what I need to order, If you wouldn't mind taking a quick look to make sure it's complete...

Terrova 112/US2/i-Pilot Link

999ci HD SI KVD Combo (KVD models are the same price as standard?)

1199ci HD SI KVD Combo

Ethernet hub- AS ETH 5PXG

2 Ethernet Adapter Cables- AS EC QDE

2 Ethernet Cables- AS EC 15E (I'll take measurements to make sure 15 feet will work)

1 Transducer Shield and Saver trolling motor mount

1 tube of silicone and zip ties  ;)

Thanks,

Josh

You need 2 hose clamp to mount the TSS to the motor. TSS sells regular and the black powder coated hose clamps I have in the pic. You also need a roll of blue painters tape to hold the cable in place while the silicone is drying. I let it dry 2 days before I removed the tape.

I know some people have epoxied the cable to the shaft while others used silicone. I chose silicone in case I have to remove it for some reason, like if the transducer goes bad and needs to be replaced. I figure it's much easier to remove silicone than epoxy. One other tip. If you do it yourself, the tolerance of the cable and the bracket is really close when the motor is in the stowed position. Make sure the wire ties are tight and secure to prevent pinching (left side is motor shell, right side is the bracket)
