mattk22 Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I am headed to KY Lake this weekend for my first trip ever on the Tenn River. It is actually my first trip on a top 100 Bassmaster lake. We are just going down for 3 days. Staying right around the 68 bridge. The water temps look to have jumped a few degrees in the last 3 days to about 64. I am thinking they should be up spawning right now, so we should catch the end of that and some post spawners. Any suggestions anyone has on fishing or eating or anything down there? We leave Wednesday and are fishing Thursday-Saturday. Quote
tbone1993 Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Where are you staying? Just make sure you pay attention to the buoy markers and your GPS. That lake is dangerous. Quote
J BASS Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I have only been on the water 20 or so times but this time of year the bushes can be very good on Barkley and you will be very close if you are staying at that resort.. Just my quick 2 Jay Quote
plumworm Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Look for the yellow flowers on the flooded banks. Fish them with black/blue, pumpkin, TR lizards. Great time to be fishing down there. Good Luck Quote
slimshad Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Spinnerbait in the Yella Flyers, yellow flowers. I haven't been down this year but I have done well with a spinnerbait over the years. Good Luck Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted April 22, 2014 Super User Posted April 22, 2014 Hell, right outside of moore's is a great place to fish. If you can, head down to Blood River. We did well down there last time I fished. Quote
CDMeyer Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 We drove by that the other day on our way back from Florida, it looked really fun to fish..... let us know how it goes Quote
Todd2 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I'll be down there for the next 4 days. We should be hitting it about right. Flowers and/or Buck Brush are usually the key this time of year. Good luck, I'll mostly be on the Barkley side. Quote

Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted April 23, 2014 Super User Posted April 23, 2014 If you can get down into Blood and launch, you'll catch fish. There is an area near the mouth on the main lake that we sat and caught easily over 50 fish, all three species. It also seemed like every point you pull up on in Blood (and there are a lot of them) had fish on it. Fish the point, move back into the cut and fish the junk in the back, repeat. Quote
mattk22 Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 Thanks Speed, i am super excited to get there. Quote
tbone1993 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 jonathan creek is a pretty popular spot. I caught some nice fish in and around moores as well. Quote
