Super User Jar11591 Posted April 22, 2014 Super User Posted April 22, 2014 Went bank fishing for an hour and a half after work today. Finally saw some signs of life. The water temp is still in the 40s but it was a nice day and the water was active. I got two. The first was 19" and a little over 4 pounds. The second was 17" and not weighed. Both were on a Siebert brush jig.The pictures don't do them justice, (that's a 1/2 oz. jig) but I was by myself. Not bad for my first of 2014. 1 Quote
einscodek Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Was in Florida last week and saw a monster female on her bed guarding younguns so I got the itch so I also went bank fishing as well in NJ on return but topwater wasnt cooperating and the water temps were still too cold so ended up with a jig which produced for me as well.. fish just outa winter and a bit sluggish. Hopefully the water temps head higher soon..would love to see bluegills then bass on their beds here in the NE.. 1 Quote

boostr Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Man I'm jelly. Did you catch off of structure or just casting it and slow dragging? Looks like no trailer either. Guess blue was the flavor of the day. Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted April 22, 2014 Author Super User Posted April 22, 2014 I was tossing it towards overhanging/submerged trees and branches (To the right of the pictures). Both hits came as I was shaking the jig in place. I was using a black blue flake rage tail chunk for a trailer. Quote
