airborne_angler Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Was at the local Swapmeet and saw a guy selling some boat stuff. He had a 50# thrust Minn Kota Endura TM I was eyeing pretty hard. Decided to pass and see what else there was. Normally theres hardly anyone who sells good Bass Tackle. This one fella had probably 100+ Brand new cranks of all sizes, depths colors and brands. Manns,Poes,Rapala,Bomber,Cotton Cordell,Rebel and then more that I couldnt recognize. They were going for $3 a piece. I could have loaded up. I resisted the urge,I have WAY too many cranks as it is,and just dont need more. They were SO pretty though!!Resisting that urge was crazy tough. If they were $1-$1.50 each I would have probably bought the whole lot. I did go back and get the TM,a Trailer Winch and a Bi color Navigational light for a Benjamin. So would anyone say that with me passing up on the crankbaits and buying the TM motor, that the bait monkey still got me? Does boat stuff fall under the bait monkey category? Quote
Super User slonezp Posted March 5, 2011 Super User Posted March 5, 2011 I got got today. Went to Cabelas to buy a few gallons of 2 stroke oil and walked out with the oil plus 2 Fenwick HMG rods. I was planning on buying some rods anyway, but was going to do it with my tax refund, which I haven't received yet. Speaking of which. Does anyone know when TW will have their next sale. Those rods wont work without reels. Quote
MFBAB Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Airborne, you are in serious denial If it makes you feel better, you could say the "boat monkey" got ya. Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 There's a guy here that sells rods, reels and some tackle at a flea market. Every Time i go to his booth i get something i probably don't need. I have gotten at least 5 PQ's for $40 each, Pflueger Trions spinning rod/reel combo's for $35 each, and i almost bought a JM gold series reel for $75 this past week. I did however end up buying a carbonlite 7'6" mh casting rod for $20. It had a messed up reel seat that was easily fixed so it was still a great deal. Quote
AndyPlaysDrums Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I work three 12 hr. days on the weekends with no one to keep me company except the internet and that damned bait monkey. He's been keeping company with me far too well this weekend! Quote
