Backwoodsbasser Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Caught my first big smallie of the year last night after work and now in all amped up. She was tipping the scale around 5lb which up here In NH is trophy size. But she had these black dots looked like seeds on her they were 3 dimensional and the bigger ones were maybe the size of a sesame seed. Any idea? Do thy have anything to do with spawn or habitat? SuskyDude Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Black spot grubs. They're little parasites. In really bad cases they can kill the fish, but for the most part are harmless. Quote
Backwoodsbasser Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 Thanks for the insight susky. Any idea what causes then or what environment or area they're common. This was my 2nd biggest smallie to date and other wise an incredibly healthy looking girl Quote
