Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted April 18, 2014 Super User Posted April 18, 2014 Raider there are 30 teams in the NHL. 1/3 of the teams are south of the old Mason Dixon line. There are even two teams in Florida. One team in Arizona, Texas, and California. As a life long hockey fan. I think it is wrong seeing teams were they don't see ice. But the southern teams have a huge fan base. Among local and regional fans. That is why the NHL wants more warm weather teams. Last nights hawks blues game was good though. I don't have a team in that series. So I am not puling for any body. Well I learned something new today. Quote

Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted April 19, 2014 Super User Posted April 19, 2014 Not much pond hockey being played in an area where entire cities shut down when they get an inch of snow! An inch is almost like getting a blizzard down here. You should have seen the aftermath of Winter Storm 93 down here. 2to3 feet of snow. The entire state shutdown for d**n near a week and a half. Super User deaknh03 Posted April 19, 2014 Super User Posted April 19, 2014 Easy now princess. Untwist your panties. Exhale, dear, exhale. Everything is gonna be all right. Raider will make it all better for ya. LOL Seriously, pierced lungs? That's your retort? Football players play through bruised and broken ribs too. Never heard of someone skating with broken feet though. I guess those skates provide no protection, but amazing support. Come off it now. Also you find me the players who are playing through a punctered lung, and I'll mail you fifty bucks. Glad I'm wearing my boots cause your piling it deep. You must have the NHL confused with rugby. Its OK I forgive you. Little mealy mouthed worm. Less you wanna try an make it personal with me too. JBSooner may take your crap. However I assure you I won't. Prissy little fairy. How you gonna pop off like that? You ain't been here long enough to act that way. Manky little Nancy Boy. Boston Bruins.Patrice Bergeron. Philadelphia Flyers. Eric Lindros. Plural, playerS. Pm me for my address and cash only please. Looks like your gonna have to go see grammy so she can find something else to trim. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted April 19, 2014 Super User Posted April 19, 2014 I just mailed a money order to you a few minutes ago. Less shipping and processing fees. Plus a one time handling fee of 40USD. It should arrive by Wednesday of this upcoming week. Quote
Nice_Bass Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Hockey and Soccer, probably the worst sports ever invented. Hockey is for wanna be figure skaters who can't dance and think they are tough. Soccer is for guys who have no other athletic ability aside from being able to run around for long periods and kick a ball far. The NFL uses those guys for extra points when the real athletes get off the field. I would rather watch a WNBA game as opposed to watching either one of those. I'll see your over generalizations and raise you highest paid/popular sport. Maybe I am biased for playing for 25 years...but come onnow...use your words. I also wrestled for 20 years so I guess I also just wanted to roll around the mat with guys that whole time.Smh. tightlines either way... seems this horse is beaten. Quote

tipptruck1 Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I screwed up. There are three teams in California. After a recount. That makes 9/30 teams in warm weather states. Not sure how I messed that up. I think I have been reading to many of Raiders post. With his queens English and math. At lest the Brewers are doing good. It looks like the team I pull for. Will not make the finals. Let alone out of the first around. Quote

When we get a couple of feet of snow on the ground, some of us actually engage the 4WD on our trucks! 1 Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted April 20, 2014 Super User Posted April 20, 2014 Speaking of feeling the pain, can you imagine the ulcer Ken Holland must be enjoying about now? Not too many teams advance to the finals with a goalie with a save percentage under .900 so I don't see Blues or Blackhawks going very far without some divine intervention! Quote

Miller has a .914 so far this series and I think Crawford is right @ .900. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted April 21, 2014 Super User Posted April 21, 2014 As a long time Blues fan, I have not entered this discussion because of my sensitivity to accusations and questioning of my masculinity from my friends in the Chicagoland area! Having been to more than a few Blues/Blackhawk games over the years, such discussions can get a little...er...heated. Comparing soccer to hockey...well, they are both team sports As far as the series is concerned, I have enjoyed both games. They have been exciting and hard fought with a lot of hard hitting and more than a little rough stuff away from the puck. I would expect nothing else from these two teams. Seabrook's illegal and stupid hit (IMO) on Backes and the resulting penalties ultimately cost his team game two, and his loss for three more games could cost the Hawks another chance at the Cup. It still remains to be seen if Backes will be back tonight. Having been in this spot before, without a Championship to show for it, I will not talk any smack just yet! Go Blues! 1 Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted April 22, 2014 Super User Posted April 22, 2014 Miller has a .914 so far this series and I think Crawford is right @ .900. The numbers I was reading were from the date posted. They're are getting better, but it can't explain how someone gives up three goals in the first period of one game, or gives up two in the third in another. Look back over the years at previous Stanley Cup winners and see what those goalies had. If the Blues are going to advance, Miller is going to have to tighten up and play more consistent periods like he did in the last game. Then it's only up to his offence to actually put the puck in the other net. Quote
crankcaster100 Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Blackhawks up 3 - 2 coming back to Chicago Uh oh 1 Quote
